Did Anyone Listen to Adam Carolla?

He and Jimmy Kimmel were great, but the newsgirl and sportsguy downright sucked. You can tell they were super nervous cuz one kept uhhh-ing and the other was stuttering. Leave it to Adam, the radio pro, to jump in and bail them out.

What the hell is it with the sportsguy yelling anyway? I was only able to listen to 2 hours and stopped... I couldn't take it. You're in freaking L.A. one of the biggest markets in the U.S!! Get those rookies outta there and get some talent for crying out loud! Ugh... anyone in Phoenix know of a good station to listen to in the morning?

Okay, I'm done ranting.

I listen to Mike & Mike in the morning on 860. FWIW, I think both Adam Carolla and Jimmy Kimmel suck.

860 eh? Okay, I'll give it a shot.

As far as Adam and Jimmy are concerned, you're entitled to your opinion... even though it's WRONG

Adam Corolloa must be the record holder for "involvement in largest number of un-funny projects."

I was caught unaware this morning that the radio station I listen to decided to add his show to the roster, even though it is not an Infinity station and did not carry Howard Stern. The station that did carry Stern in Sacramento opted not to carry Carolla's show. And, on the whole, I thought the 25 minutes or so I heard were dreadful, and I will be looking for a new station to listen to on my morning commute.

We have Davey Lee Roth here. It was about what I was expecting. No big deal, Stern was always my back up station during commercial breaks.

The Chicago morning radio market is always an interesting one... too bad I'm not up in the mornings. As far as I know Mancow is still on top and will probaly crush Carolla.

Did UCLA replace John Wooden well?

Did Alabama replace Bear Bryant easily?

You can't replace Howard Stern either. These guys are in a no-win situation.

I was really trying to separate the two and I found it very difficult. You're right Myles... NO ONE can replace the King of All Media. These guys, along with all the other guys are in a no-win situation.

We'll have to see if this "Free FM" radio works.

If Bryant and Wooden heard you comparing them with Stern, they would kick your ass. I would help.

Howard Stern has every right in the world to do what he does. Having said that, I would (guiltily) enjoy hearing that he was demolished by a cement truck.

I bet I would whip John Wooden's ass, and probably Bear Bryant's at the same as well if necessary.

I bet you could. All people who went to UCF are badasses. I should know: I went there for a semester in 1995.

Edited to change 2005 to 1995. I'm old.

Is Adam Corolla related to Gilbert Gottfried? Just curious.........They look like brothers or something. And they are both kind of unfunny.

Over the past year or so, Mancow was beating Stern in Chicago by 50% to 88% in Men 18-34. The station that airs him however remains mired in 26th place in P12+.

Meanwhile, his overall reach remains low, with fewer estimated total listeners each week than such "powerhouses" as Phil Hendrie, Stephanie Miller, Alan Colmes, Tony Snow, and G.Gordon Liddy (per Talkers Magazine estimates Oct. 2005)

I always thought Corolla was kind of funny whenever I caught Lovelines while in the car, but then I saw few minutes of his Comedy Central show after the Daily Show. It was horribly unfunny and even a bit painful to watch at times.

Lovelines is/was great because it's Adam & Drew responding to the idiots and or victims that call their show and the fact that _nothing_ surprises them and they can diagnose any caller within about two minutes of talking to them it seems.

In a structured, scripted environment, Adam ain't that funny.

860 AM in the morning is okay if you want national sports
I'd stay away from 910 AM..it's local, but they only talk about what they did last night/weekend...suns dancers...anything not sports.
1060 AM just brought in Tony Bruno so we'll see where they go.

in the afternoon drive home I flip between 910 & 1060 (both local sports talk)

He must be a hell of a pitch man because he's always been the unfunny one. I always liked Kimmel on The Man Show, but would wince when Carrola would make jokes.

AMOF, Howard has hired Mancow to join him on Sirius and broadcast a show on one of Howard's channels.

Unless I've missed something very very new, Mancow decided to stay with Emmis Comm. & Stern/Sirius signed up Bubba the Love Sponge for a gig.

This is what I've always thought about Adam.

I thought this mornings show was pretty funny when they were talking about Dick Vermiel only crying when it's football related. But when he goes home his son tells him he's dying and Dick responds with, "Oh. Well you made it 19 years. That's a lot longer than a lot of people."

I guess it was just one of those "you just had to be there" moments...

Oh cool, I'm glad to hear Bruno is on 1060. I never understood why 910 aired 1 hour of his show in between boring ass (sorry, I can't remember his name) and Jim Rome.

I'll give 1060 a try, thanks for the heads up.

I thought Howard Stern was horrible, too. Here's what I want on my morning drive - music and traffic reports. A news report is acceptable. Minimal idiotic DJ talk. If the DJs are not complete idiots and/or don't have some bullshit contrived schtick, I'll tolerate a little more than that. Howard Stern was nothing but pure, 100% bullshit contrived schtick.
