Didn't Bush say the same thing about his decision to invade Iraq?

So which is it I'm supposed to go to? The church or the mosque?

You wouldn't expect to find them in the Texas Hill Country, but they are here

Can't vouch for the veracity of the article, but don't think I need to explain it do I?

BTW, anybody else hearing those 'Public Service Announcements" on the radio lately? The ones about 'stockpiling food, flashlights, medical kits, water, ect., in a safe place in case of unexpected emergencies?" Or is that just another big joke the government seems to be playing on us?

Adjust the tinfoil to the right 0.13475 degrees, and you don't get those announcements anymore.

Funny thing is, I usually do hear them on Sunday mornings driving to church. Maybe that's why you don't? And what is the strategy behind the timing of that?

Remember hearing someone say that when the stuff hits the fan the ones that get rounded up are the ones that are not paying attention to what's being 'dribbled out' to the public and therefore cannot take care of themselves in an emergency. They the ones that get shipped off to the 'Superdomes."

I'm not. I'm going to answer his question. They play PSA on Sundays because it is slow advertising day. It is the same reason every other commercial is about not smoking.

Dola,

To get things back on topic, I hope that China, in their new role as the world's police, can do something to keep Iran in line.

I don't think the Muslim's have rapture, so we are safe. The rapture was a Revelations addition, so the Koran doesn't include it.

Your babbling, I don't know what the Muslims believe other than this particular one wants to drop a nuke on your head. Christians like myself believe in the rapture. Hope that helps.

Well, from my religious studies, about the closest approximation we have to the rapture is nuclear holocaust. So if I'm gonna have to pick a side, I'm gonna go with the one that doesn't have documentation of a rapture in their beliefs.

Well, as long as your reading it. As far as being raptured before the nuke hits, doesn't really matter as it seems either way you get to heaven pretty quickly!

What I would be concerned with is surviving the nuke and waiting around to see what happens next. If your Cartman, then the Chinese will save you. I'll take my chances elsewhere.

BTW, Revelation has the Chinese (Kings of the East) as the second wave attacking Israel after the first combined Russian/Iran assault. Both waves and the last get wipeout by the Return of Christ. So maybe the Chinese aren't such a good bet for you after all.

A good reason to go to church is when you need to catch up on your sleep before football and your wife and kids won't let you sleep in.

But if you aren't Jehova's Witness and one of the 144,000 chosen, then you are screwed no matter what.

Well, all I would say to that is if there is one truth among the many possibilities it might behoove you to find out which one it is, especially if your eternity depends on it. Again, good luck.

Bubba, PLEASE read the Bible more, start posting less and stop embarrassing "fellow" Christians.

I'm not saying you aren't a Christian, but sometimes your sensationalistic posts (especially the "Coast-to-Coast" ones.) make me wonder. Actually, sometimes you make me wonder if you aren't another poster trying to make Christians look idiotic.

It's as if you hrive on creating negative attention for your beliefs. Do you think that if Jesus were here, he'd be as much of a media-whore as you? No.

Well, sorry if I do embarrass you, not my intent. Thought this story was pretty important, has nothing to do with coast to coast. Independent news stories support Iran's actions in regards to their nuke program, this story is one of the few to demonstrate a possible motive for it. And if that motive is even close to being true then I would state we are much closer to the unthinkable than we ever were during the 'cold war.' And if that gives some an opportunity to consider eternity then let me ask you, is that something that Jesus would do or not?

If you want to spead God's Word, and the teachings of Jesus, then do it with a humble heart, and with His Word, and not with Speculation and secondhand news from the media.

Sorry, until Skydog puts the topic off limits I'll put the 'eternity' angle on just about everything I talk about. Outside of sports.

The news stories are just tools in that regards. But rapture or not, end times or not, everybody still dies. Knowing where your going to spend eternity is pretty important.

Iran being a nuclear power would be a negative development, but it's not the end of the world. For state's to use nuclear weapons, they'd need to have a non-rational person, even more non-rational than the head of North Korea. We have more nuclear weapons than anyone, why would Iran send a nuke our way? The bigger problem is nuclear proliferation, which doesn't seem to be on anyone's radar. That, however, won't stop the GOP from sending the Bubba Wheels of the country public service announcements telling them that the sky is falling, conveniently ending in the middle of November next year (speaking of which, when was the last terror alert? I remember them happening every other week until right around the first week of November, 2004).

The paper I linked to was an English newspaper. How are they controlled by the GOP? And someone else in this thread talking about "Iran won't send a nuke our way because that would be irrational..." Wha? I thought that was the whole point about the article, that Iran IS irrational, and their leader has grand visions of bringing back this 'hidden imam' or whatever. And no, its not the same as Christians talking about Revelation (no s, hollywood!). While many Christians believe that Revelation will happen they are not actively attempting to bring it about by starting a nuclear war.

No but some Christians believe that helping the Jews take control of Jerusalem will bring about the end times. And I don't suppose that nuclear war would be out of the question if that's what it took.

Funny how a cult turned into a full blown regilious movement. Funny how a book that has some parts missing from it and parts added is so dearly believed in.
