IWS #128 Results
The results are in. Only 14 participants this time. Let's get right to it.
THE QUESTIONS 1. Name a North American city known for its high quality of life. Seattle 5 San Diego 2 New York City 2 Honolulu 1 Vail 1 Beverly Hills 1 Houston 1 Portland 1 No one took the "North American" bait here and named a non-U.S. city. I like the Honolulu answer personally, but I guess that stupid likes the rain. 2. Name a TV show famous for jumping the shark. Happy Days 9 The Simpsons 3 X-Files 1 Seinfeld 1 People who knew the origin of the phrase "Jump the Shark" had a big advantage here. Our periodic laments about the decline of The Simpsons got a few vote thrown its way, but nothing close to Fonzie and the shark tank. 3. Name one of the companies/products/services/etc. that advertizes on FOFC. Direct2Drive 5 Gametap 2 Civilization IV 2 Bloodrayne 1 Taco Bell 1 Miami Ink 1 Wendy's 1 Boys & Girls Club 1 Good spread of answers. I really had no idea what stupid would do with this. I personally would have gone with Miami Ink since the ads are somewhat distinctive. 4. Name a B movie. Attack of the Killer Tomatoes 3 Plan 9 From Outer Space 2 Toxic Avenger 1 Swamp Thing 1 Bloodrayne 1 Gigli 1 Attack of the 50 Foot Woman 1 Showgirls 1 Godzilla 1 King Kong 1 Caddyshack 1 Rkmsuf is going to be mad at someone. 5. Name a actress from the Golden Age of Hollywood. Bette Davis 5 Katherine Hepburn 5 Ingrid Bergman 2 Marilyn Monroe 1 Judy Garland 1 Maybe it is just the rose colored glasses of history, but these women seemed to have so much more class and grace than the Paris Hilton/Lindsey Lohan skankathon that is shoved down our throats. 6. Name a mythical creature. Hydra 2 Dragon 2 Pegasus 2 Colossal Squid 1 Unicorn 1 Loch Ness Monster 1 Cenatur 1 Werewolf 1 Bigfoot 1 Elf 1 Cyclops 1 Just a bad question. Way too many possible answers. I should have limited these to certain types of creatures. THE RESULTS I'm tired, so no fancy formatting. Just the facts.
Congrats to Butter of 69 on his first IWS win! |

All is okay with the world again, MIJB in last place. (sigh)

Factor in that my research brought up Ingrid Bergman (I had no idea what the Golden Age of Hollywood until googling) and not Katherine Hepburn, and me not knowing about the image of Seattle, and it was a lost cause. By the way, the mythical creatures would have been a lot better question in a little bit larger participation. A big spread and with a little bit more players, the dragon could have been a gamebreaker. Not to mention that the top two scored the maximum on that question.

![]() Edit--Doh. I remember what I put for that question. Pegasus. Not too manly either, but at least Pegasus kicked some ass in Clash of the Titans. Last edited by Raiders Army : 01-17-2006 at 09:46 AM. |

I picked pegasus too. Clash of the Titans was an awesome movie. Only movie I can think of with a unicorn in it was that tom cruise fairy movie thing. So in this case Pegasus > unicorn |
