Apparently Japanese Wrestling has it's uses..

When you're trying to prevent your purse from being snatched..

This apparently was security cam footage of a purse-snatcher attempting to steal a woman's purse. Of course, the would-be thief had the bad luck to choose a female professional wrestler's purse.. the robber's neck was broken

Here's a larger/longer version.. you can tell it wasn't staged, you can tell the guy was severely in ouch ville after taking that landing.

I can't find anything to confirm/deny whether this is real or staged, which is a little odd since it appears to have come from a Russian video news feed nearly six months ago (that's the oldest discussion thread I've found on it). If it was staged, I'd think that somebody would have at least identified the puroresu chick by now. That makes me lean toward real a little bit, except that she seems to hold onto the guy a little longer than she should after the move, almost as though she were waiting for a three count.

That is how it appears to me as well which makes me think it was fake. Also, I wonder what the words are across the screen in the larger version.

I'd be tempted to call bullshit on this. I find that the robber is holding a bit too much to her shoulders to make him even the least interested in getting out of her hold. Either that, or he is a very stupid crook who can't fight. I mean how is a lady gonna lift a dude without him helping himself...

Watch much Joshi Puroresu aka Japanese Women's Pro Wrestling?
I dare say half those little girls could kick the ass of half the guys at FOFC in a shoot fight.

Besides, the would-be thief ain't exactly the most macho looking guy in the world.

no I don't and even if I did, you're not gonna tell me that wrestlers don't help themselves on throws, right?

Oh there's absolutely cooperation between the thrower & the throwee, but given the relatively small size of the would-be mugger & the (presumably) good physical condition & above-average strength of the intended victim, for her to toss him that way without him helping really shouldn't be hard to believe at all.

The difference between most women in North American wrestling & a lot of the Japanese women wrestlers is that they've got a lot more who are legitimately athletic, they are probably closer to smaller male cruiserweights here than they are to the eye-candy-posing-as-female-wrestler we're used to in North America.

I wasn't really comparing the Japanese wrestlers athleticity to the North American's but you got a point.

I'm just still skeptical about the height she is giving him compared to what I've been taught in kenpo classes when defending against a head lock. It's basically the same position she's in where you go and reach for the leg but while your attacker usually goes up a little and then falls backward, he never reaches the kind of height she's able to give him.

And yeah, he's a very non-macho robber

The only thing I found on it said it was a commercial. Still a nice back suplex though.
