You will notice that a few categories were dropped. Poster of the year, and Lifetime Achievement award. Due to a lack of interest. I also combined the Basketball group with others since there was only one nominee. Maybe I shouldn't have tried to stray into topics in the general forum. Definately a learning experience. I still plan to give out the lifetime achievement award, and I have found someone that I feel is worthy, but it is a great dynasty writer, which it should have been all along. A few nominees had to be removed since they won last year.

Send your votes to me at Airhogg at yahoo dot com or PM them too me no later than sunday Feburary 5th at 8pm. I only got one volunteer to host the show, so I will probably just do it myself with their help.

Question:

If you want to vote, do you have to vote in every category or can we vote in just the ones we are interested in or know about?

You can vote in just one category, or all of them. Whichever you feel comfortable.

Wow, I am so humbled to be nominated in two categories. What a shock it was to see a nomination for Dynasty of the Year. There have been some outstanding dynasties this year, it is great to be considered among them.

Now go vote for me!

I am truly honored to have been nominated as well, I truly did not think one of my dynasties would be nominated.

This one could have gone in the real life category too/in stead, I think.

Shouldn't Oliegirls' thread of the year nomination been one for the 2007 Golden Scribes? I mean, it wasn't active in 2005. Or was it a last second entry? It kinda feels like doing Hall of Fame nominations right after the day Jerome Bettis runs for 3 touchdowns to boost the Steelers to a Super Bowl win.

And now I'll go cry for letting my dynasty fall so hard that it doesn't even get nominated for a repeat. (I can't blame the voters much, it's been less active the past year, although I felt it has been a quality over quantity thing.) I shall bring it to the next level so I'll be considered again for the 2007 show!

Considering I haven’t been around for 1/3 of a year, I’m flattered to be nominated. However, because I haven’t been around, and the dynasty (at least what was reported) fell some 60 seasons short of it’s intended goal, I humbly ask people not to vote for either the thread or me.

So if I lose this year, am I still eligible to be nominated for next years awards?

Airhog, I like the idea of annual awards, but if you want general forum interest, shouldn't you name the awards something more general? Like The FOFC Annual Awards? And have more categories of general awards. I'd love to see an annual all-FOFC awards ceremony and I think others might too.

Well, they've been called the Golden Scribes for as long as I can remember (ok, so that's not very long).

I wished there had been more categories that were non-dynasty...I don't really read many of the dynasties, so my input and opinions on the nominees was limited. I just think it's cool that someone does this though

I was always under the impression that they were meant to reward the best dynasty posters? At least that's what my impression of them was. I like the idea of a more general awards ceremony. I think enough happens day-to-day here where it would be fun to reminisce at the end of the year.
