The Worst Sunday

This is a pretty crappy Sunday. There is no football. There is only one more week of football (the Pro Bowl doesn't count) and it's only one game. It's a long wait until the regular season. Preseason games, the AFL, or NFL Europe don't count.

It's a great day!! I'm grilling steaks later, my wife and daughter are going away for a few hours this afternoon, and I get to watch the Pistons beat the hell out of the L.A. Kobes at 3:30.

Rain? What's that? We have had over 100 days of no rain here... it's actually a record; I hate dry days.

Thanks! We're so ready to move. There's nothing I like about Phoenix. At first, the cost of living was appealing, but everything is getting more and more expensive. When we first moved here, the average home was about $145,000, now, it's $275,000... a significant increase but of course, much cheaper than other places I'm sure.

Isn't every Sunday a crappy Sunday for Raiders fans? Except on days they might play on Saturday, of course.

I'm already in full-blown offseason depression mode. The Super Bowl is never as enjoyable as it should be because of the extremely long broadcast time and being forced to watch the game with people who ask 200 dumb questions about football during the course of the game, talk about which players have the cutest butt, etc..

It was supposed to be on tape delay. It should be on right now.

We actually went to the "Christmas" get-together at one of my wife's relative's house today. Normally that side of her family gets together on Christmas Day. The tree was rotting in the back yard, and we had birthday cake, but Merry Christmas to all!

Saw a little of it, but, c'mon, tape delay sports. I suspend belief on that level once every four years (well, used to be) but Arena League just isn't the Olympics.

I thought it was a pretty good Sunday, but guess you have to enjoy soccer. Had Liverpool vs. Portsmouth on in the afternoon, flipped over the catch the end of the Buick Invitational (including a 3 way playoff with Tiger) and then caught up with Tivo on the USA soccer game against Norway that was played earlier.

As much as I love the AFL, I agree with you here. I can't even watch the NFL or the NHL on tape delay, and those are my two favorite leagues above the AFL. I just figured that maybe you'd want to get a quick glimpse at the Brigade or just a closer look at how Arena Football plays. You'll get plenty more chances, though, since the remaining 15 games are supposed to be televised in the KC area.

Sunday was pretty good. I got out of working so the little lady and I could meet with our photographer and then we spent the rest of the day with each other, just chillin'. It's been quite a while since we've been able to spend an entire day together.
