Best Baseball Dynasty

It seems like this wasn't a very interesting category. It got very few votes, and few nominees. However, some of these dynasties are still pretty good. It doesn't really matter what the subject matter is. The people nominated in the different categories could make an interesting read about a wet paper bag.

The nominees are

Dynasty League Baseball - Breeze
Prequel:An OOTP History, SelzShoes
After the stand, a OOTP dynasty by KWhit

And the winner, of the best baseball dynasty is

BREEZE

Congratulations, Im sure that the award will look good on the dash of your car.

Ooh - I get to squeeze her boob first!

Seriously, I don't think she is all that attractive, but it had to be said - if someone would like to buy the rights to squeeze Scarlett's boob from me, the bidding starts at $500

Awesome!

I'd like to thank Wayne Rooney for his unending support and goal production. Of course, I must also thank Stewart Downing who was my first big acquisition, and helped push the team over the top. Obviously, I can't forget the many contributions of both Adriano's as they take us forth into the next decade. Alberto keeps the drive alive with his continued development. Finally, I must thank the Manchester United Board for taking a chance when I was relatively unproven with Wigan.

Seriously, I want to thank the SI crew for making such a fun game which has caused me to put over 1400 hours into that career. Also, I'd like to thank everyone who voted for me

That's ok, neither am I. I remember the year I did a presentation- it took me 3 days to come up with something I was happy with and it paled in comparison to the good writers

So far the favourite have won in each category (I'm assuming the nominations were listed in order of nominations received). Be interesting to see if there's any upsets or if the favourites hold true to form

Okay folks, lets move on to one of the most popular Categories. The Non-sports Dynasty category. There were quite a few excellent dynasties here, and any one of them could have won. However, there was only one true winner in this group. The nominees for Non-sports Dynasty are

May Our Reign Be Green and Golden: Crusader Kings Dynasty Izulde
ThunderDome Ravenhawk
The Hunt for McRib dynasty RadioFriendlyUnitShifter
Name That Game Sterling Ice

And the winner is

Izulde

Congratulations on your win tonight.

I have to say that I only voted in a few categories, mainly because I read very few dynasties last year. But this is probably one of the better dynasties posted on this forum.

Best Real-life Dynasty
Land Me Munsonian
Parents Anonymous, FOFC Branch WSUCougar

And the Winner is.......

WSUCOUGAR

I have to admit, that I did read this one, and it was a great dynasty. Although WSUCougar created it, I think everyone that posted stories in it are deserving of this award.

Congrats Izulde, that was a very good dynasty, and I did enjoy it.

I would be lying though if I said that I wasn't a bit dissapointed that my dynasty got shut out this year.

Wow, just wow! I'm absolutely speechless.

I never expected to win the Dynasty of the Year, ever. Thank you all so much! For some reason, I didn't see that this thread was updated, so it's only now that I came across it when I checked to see why no new awards had been posted.

Guess I should write a speech huh?

Okay, here goes

First off, I'd like to thank everyone who sent in a nomination or who voted in the Golden Scribes. Without the support of this forum and the interest in the Golden Scribes and the Dynasty section of these boards, the Golden Scribes would not exist, and I don't know that we would have nearly as many wonderful dynasties as we do to read and enjoy.

Second, I'd like to thank all those who comment, not only in my own dynasties, but in those of others. While it's true that every dynasty should be written for the author's own personal enjoyment, the comments and feedback from others, even if it's just a word or two, provides the inspiration and motivation for us to keep writing when our energy for the dynasty might be running a little low, because then we know it's not just us who care about it; others are invested in it too.

Third, I"d like to thank the developers who produce the games that we play and love. Without the games, there would be none of this; no dynasties, no boards, and none of the FOFC family we've developed. Yes, we're dysfuctional and yes we have our moments of quarrels and strife, but what we have here at FOFC and boards similiar in spirit to it are communities, families of people who, even in the anonymity of the Internet, have become closer to one another and made the world a smaller, more intimate, and better place to be. We comfort one another, entertain one another, and yes, learn from one another.

And it is this spirit of community, family, and fraternity that we have here that makes these boards such a special place to be.

Thank you again, each and every one of you, for being who you are and contributing part of yourself to FOFC, no matter how small.
