Olympics Question

I know the general consensus is that no one here is watching it, but I have a question regarding every country's uniform(s) as well as the placards seen all over the village.

It's all in English.

Anyone notice the "Passion begins here" signs all over the place? Shouldn't they be written in Italian?

And, do the Chinese mind that their uniforms say "China" on them, or that the Russian bobsled says "Russia" in bold letters?

Is this customary or a recent Olympic thing?

hrm, all these things appear in French for me... "La passion commence ici" and then I see "Russie" and then "Chine"...

Must be computer generated....

Nah, I'm fucking with ya

What you say makes sense though. I remember when the USSR jersey used to read CCCP...

Although it would be indeed the coolest thing ever. Think about that, jerseys on which the writing changes depending on what channel you watch, woah...

He had me going there too.

Oh yeah, I've been watching the Olympics every night, at least, the prime time stuff. I'm even tearing myself away from my new Star Wars game to watch right now

The official Olympic languages are English and French, and of those two, I would imagine English is more commonly recognized throughout the Olympic world.
