Groomsmen Gifts

So I'm getting married in June, and was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for some cool groomsmen gift. I wanted to get them dart board cabinet, but the price was too much for something like that. I'd also like to avoid the usual suspects like engraved pocket knives, mugs, flasks, or personalized poker chips.

I have 5 groomsmen, and they are a pretty diverse group of guys, both in age (15 - 28) and interests.

Any thoughts?

Get some fancy flasks for them. If you don't have a full bar wedding, they can fill up and "enjoy" themselves anyways.

This is what I did for mine - I did the mini bat version, and it turned out very well. I very much regret not getting one for myself at the same time.

I gave mine Superhero Action Figures...of course, we had all children in our wedding party other than the best man and bride's maid.

The best man got a pocket watch (which he collects) and a Superman Action Figure.

I gave mine radioactive waste.

Actually, i think I gave them Flasks with their names engraved on it. I went through some online company, and they botched the order and sent me pocket knives with their names on it. So I just gave them both.

I think so far, I have received a Stein engraved, a pocketwatch, and a cigar box.

Prior to my own wedding I was in 4 others and once after getting married.
I have two useless flasks, one pocket knife I use around the house, a crappy plastic beer mug that can only be hand washed (I think this got tossed in our Dec. move) and a pen set.

For my wedding all my groomsmen went to ASU w/ me and were all graduates so I got them all ASU money clips (that I'm sure none of them use, but I use mine.) and ASU key rings with their initinals. In hindsight I had the chance to purchase blank ASU football jerserys and thought about putting their names on the back with a number that they could either wear or frame themselves. I regret I didn't.

I also got them a groomsmen "gift/goodie bag" that had stuff in it for them. It included black socks (you'd be surprised how many people don't own a good pair) a bottle of water (the ceromony was outside) a pack of candy or breath mints or gum, and then something fun like silly putty or slinky, just because it can get boring sitting around waiting for pictures ect.

There is nothing that says they all have to get the same thing too. If they all have different interests get them something like that. Maybe a fitted baseball hat of their favorite team. One of my friends gave these to his groomsmen @ the reception.

Yeah, I wish I had the money to buy them all a really nice driver or putter or something golf club, but my money was spent elsewhere. When it came down to it, I didn't have a lot to spend on them, and no one really ever cares what you get them as a groomsmen gift. I think I could've given my groomsmen llama droppings in a plastic bag, and they wouldn't care.

My sister gave this to me as a graduation gift so I ended up doing the same for groomsmen since I use mine everyday and all the guys golf on occasion

What about memorabelia for their favorite sports team? The jersey with their name on it is a great idea...we went with the traditional gifts - one got a pocket knife, one got engraved beer mugs, one got a flask and nice bottle of scotch.

i went with engraved metal beer steins for my 4 guys, pretty sure they went over well they were pewter with gold trim and their initals on one side

i have received through my various friends:
an engraved beer stein (glass with my initials on the lid)
a pocket knife with my initials on the metal part
a pocket flask (which i thought came in quite handy at all the other weddings i have had to go to)

I use all of them on a pretty normal basis

I didn't get my groomsmen anything either, but that was back in 1996 when tipping at restaurants was still 10-15%.

You should just give them a piece of paper that says:

"Your groomsmen gift is the bridesmaid you are walking down the aisle with. She is easy and will do anything you want her to. Enjoy!"

You have to buy them plain and get them engraved.

When I worked at Michigan Book and Supply, this couple came in and wanted to buy these fancy travel bathroom sets that had the U of M seal on them for their groomsmen. They asked us if it was a lame gift, and since we'd been trying to get rid of them for a really long time, we said they'd be great gifts!

That is all.

I had 7 Groomsman and got them each a bar/pub sign. You can edit the text or leave it as it is for each one at no extra charge. They have a ton of different styles and I was able to find one that went we each guy's personality. For the record, they were everything we hoped for and it's cool to see them hung in each guy's house. My wife ended up buying me one for my Birthday since I was so envious of the one's I got them.

I wasn't even aware of groomsman's gifts until last summer (the previous two weddings where I was in the wedding party didn't provide any groomsman's gifts). Given that, I don't expect a gift in that circumstance, but maybe I'm in the minority.

Since these are your groomsmen, you should know them pretty well, which means you should have a pretty good idea of what they'd appreciate as a gift. I think the key thing is to get them something they'd like, whether it's expensive or not. If they're smokers, maybe a nice lighter; if they're all into cigars, a good cigar kit; if they like a little nip of booze, a nice flask.

Or maybe they don't care if they get a gift or not - why not broach the subject with the best man and get some feedback. Maybe for a gift you take them out for a fun night on the town?

Definitely do what you can to ensure the bridesmaids are hot and single though...

My fomer roommate was a groomsman recently (I actually think he was the best man) and got...

1. Personalized cigar box (wooden/felt-lined)
2. Inside said cigar box was a very nice wine opener
3. Something engraved. Might have been a flask.
4. Some other little more "personal" item because he was the best man. I think it was a nice knife or something.

Have you been measured for your tux yet? If not, you are going to get a call from the groom soon saying "dude, she's driving me crazy - please go get measured at the tux store so she'll shut up and leave me alone"

Unless it's a military wedding and then you have nothing to worry about

The place we are getting our Tuxedos at Friar Tux has some really nice wallets that I think we are planning to get for the groomsmen/bridesmen. We only have guys in the wedding party besides my fiancee.

If you'd like I can get the company name of the wallets, they have lots of different color, texture, combinations and they really impressed me when I saw that I'm getting one myself.
