I hate today. Started well, but has turned south really fast.

Sounds like someone has a case of the "Mondays"

And what's this I hear about your TPS reports? Didn't you get the memo?

I hate Mondays.

Milton, don't be greedy. Let's pass it along and make sure everyone gets a piece.

I had such an Office Space moment today, it was a little frightening.

On Friday, I'd been asked by one of the I&T people (integration and test) to provide him a list of ground support points (GSE) he'd need. Simple task, sort of, though it requires a lot of cross-comparisons of harness wirelists and such. Either way, I set out to doing it on Friday and got about halfway done, working on it for only about half the day Friday (I have other things to do, not just this task...).

Anyway, I get to work this morning already having a major case of the Monday's (woke up at 4 and couldn't fall back asleep, power was out this morning so I couldn't even make my coffee, etc, etc) and I see an email in my inbox from the I&T person describing for me what he needs. Now, why he thought I needed this description is beyond me. I had already sent him a version of the information he needed for an older satellite, and told him I'd be updating that spreadsheet for the new satellite. Anyway, I shot one back at him saying it would all be covered and that I hoped to have it to him by lunchtime.

Then I get a call from my "supervisor" (he's not really a supervisor per se, but that's another story) asking me what I was providing to I&T. I told him what I was doing, he thought that sounded right, and it comes out that ANOTHER I&T person had called him asking for the same information. It also turns out that this I&T person was CC'd on the email chain last week and this morning about what I was going to provide them. He knew I was the POC, and still called the other guy, which the other guy had no idea so had to call me to get the info.

I'm finally about 80% done with it when the I&T person who wrote me the email in the morning calls me to ask about how the points are tied together. It took every ounce of control I had not to just say "leave me alone! If you leave me alone, then I can actually finish this and then it will all make sense," but part of my job is being a politician on some level, so I had to take time to explain how it was going to work and again let him know that I'd have it out before lunch (it was about 10 when he called me).

I finished it around 11 and sent it off. I seriously would have been done closer to 10 had I not been continually interrupted...gotta love the Office Space, sometimes...

I wish I had your patience. I have failed at playing politician on a couple of occasions.

I don't know how you did it.

My Monday sucked as well. Our company decided to change the way we do things, yet again, and I'm stuck doing my job and someone else's. I had absolutely no patience today, so when a girl decided to call me "deaf" when I didn't hear her, I had to come back and give her a piece of my mind.

It took every ounce of my being to not say, "Look you effin biatch..."
