Baseball Games 2003?
Just curious to what people are going with to get their baseball fix this year? This year has tons of games for the baseball fan and I can't wait to read some reviews so I can nag the wife about some cash.
1. OOTP5 2. Puresim 2003 3. High Heat 2004 - pc or console 4. MLB 2004 - console 5. MVP Baseball 2003 - console 6. World Series Baseball 2k3 - console 7. All-Star Baseball 2004 - console There might be a few I missed, games like Diamond Mind and Baseball Mogul are staying put, I think. I'm going to study both 1 & 2 this year. Earlier this year, ootp was a sure thing, but Shawn has coded alot of features in a short time and Puresim seems to be on the rise. Don't laugh, but I like what I have heard about HH2004 so far. Only time will tell, but I'm a sucker for a graphical baseball sim as well and High Heat 2000 and 2002 got alot of playing time on my pc. I just wish they would enhance manage only mode, yes I'm a dreamer of ootp and HH merging. Console gaming is another story, I just want a fun game to play against friends. World Series baseball could be good as well as a host of others. This is about the time the clubhouse would get hundreds of new users. ![]() Todd |

I already have Puresim 2003 (subscription thingie). I doubt I'll be getting OOTP5. I'm not that big of a baseball fan and only one sim will be enough for me.

you are such a big fan of OOTP that it's influenced you to put double exclamation marks after every sentence. that's great. kind of like putting a sticker for your favourite team in your car window.

I'll probably pick up OOTP5. If Puresim develops nicely and gets a lot of positive feedback here, I might consider getting that as well depending on what other games come out to keep me busy.

Interesting to say the least. No one at least a little interested in High Heat? or has the promises worn off? Todd |

This has the makings of the best year for console baseball games. right now i'm most interested in high heat 2004 and world series baseball, they both are supposed to have excellent franchise modes.

OOTP5 for sure. High Heat is a great game but truthfully I'm fed up with the lack of support from 3DO. Heck, you can't even call them anymore. If the reviews are positive and there are not a lot of bugs I'll probably get that one. I'm also interested to see what EA does with their new baseball game. If they can get it to the level of Madden 2003 I'd be interested in that as well. But I will only purchace one type of each game, that is one text sim and one arcade game.

I doubt I will get MVP for my PS2 but from what I have seen the new pitching method looks to be a pretty realistic way to model pitching... If you haven't seen it looks alot like the triclick method for many golf games...
So far WSB looks to have the best chance for me to purchase... I dunno about a text Baseball sim... I may just pass this year on one of those??? |

I'll probably be getting all of the console baseball games, although the ones that look the most promising to me are World Series 2k3 and High Heat 2004. MLB Inside Pitch is kinda a dark horse, since NOBODY seems to know anything about it. Good be good, could be a stinker. We'll find out in a couple months, I guess.
