Is Morrowind still worth getting?
Is Morrowind still worth getting?
The Game of the Year edition which comes with both Tribunal and Bloodmoon. I saw it at Best Buy for 19.99 for the PC. Or best off just getting Oblivion only? |

I've been playing obvion today.
I like it so far.. Has a lot of promise. But aside from graphics - I don't see all that much fundementally different from morrowind. It's almost exactly the same aside from wee 'features' here and there like - travel on a horse in the new one and stuff like that. I'd say hit Morrowind just now. It's a very very similar gaming experience and it's not so old as to look ugly. |

I played Morrowind in Nov and Dec of this year. Best RPG I've ever played, period. Better than Might and Magic VI, better than Fallout II, better than Planescape, better than any Ultima, better than KOTOR or KOTOR II, better than Baldur's Gate, even better than Wasteland.

No, because Oblivion is better (though I feel Morrowind was deeper but so deep that it would take you light years to figure it all out)...the fast travel is a blessing.

Can anyone vouch if getting Game of the Year edition for XBOX is worth it for someone with regular Morrowind? I would like to advance my old character to the new story lines, but am unsure how long/good the new storylines and areas are and if they are worth an extra purchase?

I agree with Qwikshot that the fast travel is a huge upgrade in Oblivion. However, I'd play Morrowind as well, but I'd eventually get Oblivion. Of course, jbmagic, you said you already got Oblivion.

I am pretty sure someone came out with a mod that added a quick travel option to Morrowind. |
