Got a new tatoo yesterday !!

It looks awesome, my girlfriend got it as a present for me. It spurned me on to wonder what other board members have body art. Speak up people!

It's the chinese symbol for a question mark inside a ying yang with all the colors of a sunset mixed in. It is symbolic of me being adopted and not knowing my heritige, etc... I got it in chinese so my parents wouldn't know what it meant because I didn't want to hurt their feelings.

That sounds really cool...

I have the chinese symbol for lucky surrounded by shamrocks on my right shoulder and the gemini symbol surrounded by some tribal on my left shoulder.

The things are freaking addictive, I want more

PS - Happy Easter all!

thanks, it looks awesome because the colors are so bright right now. They are really addictive, my girlfriend was really jealous watching me because she wants another one but doesn't know what to get.

Jealous in a cute way, not a bitch way.

Years later, Lathum will find out that the chinese symbol for a question mark, when used alone, is chinese slang for someone who isn't sure what their sexual orientation is, and likes to do a LOT of experimenting.

Post a pic of it, nub.

This is exactly why getting Kanji scares me.

Darnit, this thread has me ready to get a new one more than ever (I currently have two). Guess I need to get my brother to work on my new design more.

I've been using the online listings of prisoners to get tattoo ideas. There are no pictures, just vauge descriptions in their identifying marks info. Right now I'm leaning toward "skull with tophat," though it'll be hard to pass on "troll with chuckie."

My tat is unique, as I went with the Red and Yellow M & M's to symbolize my wife and daughter on my left arm.

I am working on my own design for the 2 boys for my right arm, it's a celtic knot, in the shape of a diamond, with their initials at every point, as runes.

They are additcting, and I want several more, in fact, I want to work the knot into a half sleeve on my right shoulder.

I have a Red Sox logo on my ankle. My wife has a little squiggly design on her right upper back, a cartoon character that has some special significance on her left shoulder, and will soon have a pair of hands knitting on her lower back.

I would really like to get another, but I haven't figured out what I want yet.

In my opinion Tatoo's on chicks are trashy. I don't get the appeal. Me and my friends call them Tramp Stamps.

I have a sun that I drew with my initials filling out the middle of it. It's in between my shoulderblades...about the size of a saucer. I'm planning on getting the outline of California on my chest, and the word "Imagine..." written in cursive somehwere. I know that sounds corny as all hell, but the song says everything I feel about the world.

I've got six tattoos on my upper body. One on each arm, two on my chest, and two more on my back.

Have a mostly green scorpion with the first initial of each of my 3 daughters' names on a scale. Center top of the back.

Looks cool, nat, but at this point I never really even remember that it's there...it just IS.

I haven't read the entire thread, and I'm not trying to shit on what anyone does...but I just don't understand tattoos, unless they actually mean something to you. Just from doing quick scanning...I see some who have tattoos that remind them of their kids, their heritage, etc. That's cool. Maybe I just know too many people who got tats because they "looked cool." (like the barbed wire phase of a few years ago).

TK, where do you get your ink in NoVa? I got a fantastic memorial tattoo for Cassandra - her eyes and name in cursive on my right arm, where she took naps with me - from a place in Manassass. The guy who did it is one of the best tatoo artists in the country and I highly recommend him.

Women who have a tattoo do nothing for me. But tramp scamps?

Good lord. There isn't anything wrong with them. All of my friends who have them (both male and female), place a great deal of importance to the tattoo. They didn't just get it on a whim, they got it to show something important in their lives.

I can think of far worse ways for them to express themselves.

Actually my ink was all done at Body FX in Elkridge, MD. http://bodyfxtattoos.com/html/aboutmain.htm

Gordon did a good job, but I'm always looking for suggestions on other artists (especially since now BFX is over an hour from where I am, and I'm sure I can find somebody as good or better locally).

Fish at Perforations in NW did my piercings (most of which have since been removed, not exactly by my choice), but he's since moved to Florida (which is a shame, I'd have gone to him for my ink). I'm not even sure Perforations is still around.

Where would you recommend?

Have a couple myself. I wouldn't say I find women with tats to be trashy, but I usually don't like them, depending on where they are. A woman who gets them on her forearms, or lower back which i cant stand, i find to be unattractive. Small ones on the back, ankles, feet, places like that I don't mind one bit.

I would love to eventually get 2 sleeves but being that I hope to one day be a teacher that probably isn't the greatest idea.

Are any of you Christians that have Tattoos? I'm not a christian myself, I just don't like the "look" of Tattoos. This passage seems pretty clear cut. I always found it funny when people have crosses tattooed on themselves.

I just had this arguement the other day with a friend of mine.

Lev 19:28 Ye shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks upon you: I [am] the LORD.

Now this is the same area of the bible that has all kind of rules that noone follows anymore.

For dudes, I can kind of get it I suppose. There is a certain "toughness" that people seem to equate with tattoos. That and the thought that tattoos make up for a little penis.

As I stated earlier, for woman I think they are trashy. I mean you can't watch a porno without a chick and a tattoo. What happened to wholesome pornstars?

I know lots of Christians who have tattoos... but most of them got them before they were born again, and most say they wouldn't do it again. It's not so much the Leviticus thing; it's more an issue of not wanting to be vain.
