Another Draft Thread - Bad First Rounders
The 2001 draft thread inspired me and the San Francisco 49ers recent draft history has nauseated me.
So I want to play "has any team even come close to drafting as poorly" as the 49ers in the past 10 years. Now, all you NFL fans know the Niners are horrible and you have an idea that they have draft poorly but you really need to see it, in one concise form to truly appreciate the horror that is the niners #1 picks of the past 10 years. I was going to make comments along side each player, but really how many times can you read BUST in one post. There is one good player on here Julian Peterson, of course he is on the Seahawks now. I also think it is too early to form much of an opinion on Alex Smith just yet - well other then the fact that if he was in this years draft he would go somewhere in the 20-25 range. Year Player Pos. School 2005 *Alex Smith QB Utah 2004 Rashaun Woods WR Oklahoma State 2003 Kwame Harris OT Stanford 2002 Mike Rumph CB Miami (Fla.) 2001 Andre Carter DE California 2000 Julian Peterson LB Michigan State Ahmed Plummer CB Ohio State 1999 Reggie McGrew DT Florida 1998 R.W. McQuarters CB Oklahoma State 1997 Jim Druckenmiller QB Virginia Tech 1996 No Pick -- -- 1995 J.J. Stokes WR UCLA |

Isn't Ahmed Plummer doing well for the Bears as well.

No, we had McQuarters. He was tossed last season, however, after several years as a piss poor CB that the coaching staff loved for some reason.

Niners cut Plummer this off-season. He was often injured and when healthy was average at best. McQuarters was awful as a niner, decent as a Bear and as I understand it now he is pretty much done |
