Ping: Gamenikki poker freaks.

I have something for you.

"Stacked with Daniel Negreanu" beta invites.

Do I have your attention yet?

What is going on with this game? I think it has had at least 3 release dates. It is like the Duke Nukem Forever of poker games.

I believe I'd be heavily interested in this.

And I have a lot of time.

This thread was aimed mostly at the Gamenikki folks on the board, since some of them don't frequent OUR board all that often (or at least don't post frequently enough for me to measure) and one of the things going on with the beta test is they have three tournaments they want our participation in.

All three take place this weekend.

It's a time-sensitive thing, in other words, or I'd use our own boards to get their attention rather than FOFC.

So I basically need to grab those guys and get them in the beta if they're interested ASAP since the client is a 615 MB download.

What about poker freaks who became Gamenikki poker freaks the moment you mentioned this beta?

Especially ones with free time this weekend.

While on the subject of poker games, I HIGHLY reccomend Poker Academy PRO for those interested in working on their games.

An incredible hold em game. It's improved my play ten fold.

He shows K/3. Flop comes down 4/K/5

then a 7

then a 6

He gets a straight, I have about 500 bucks left to his 66k.

Next hand I have J/2, he has Q/8. I hit a J on the flop, he hits a Q on the river for ballgame.

Not bad though. I'd say the gamenikki folks had a nice showing.

anyway, Troy and I made it to the final table. both low on chips. I held on to 5th, Troy had some nice wins to get to heads up. was one card away from taking it, but the other guy pulled out a straight on the river.

fun time.
except it distracted me from my hockey games.

Didn't realize you were still watching there DD.

I couldn't believe that 6. I thought it was over. (and indeed, it WAS over)

Oh well, that's poker. At least it only cost me about 400 fake $ and not the WSOP.

That's a smart choice.

It's really a great game. They have bots that specialize in heads up. Bots for limit and no limit. The statistical analysis is amazing.

I've been practicing hard with the game. I make sure that I calculate my pot odds on every call. I calculate my outs (or what I think my outs are)

I also try to place the bots on hands based off of their betting patterns. I know people will say it's just a computer and they are just bots, but I've found my hand reading abilies to take a huge leap. I've also found leaks in my game.

The key is making sure you play it like you do for real money. If you just throw all of your chips in every hand and reload, it's worthless. But if you take it serious and analyze your plays after you lose money, it can really improve your game.

For my money, there are four poker training tools I would steadfastly refuse to ever give up.

1) Harrington Hold em Tournament 1
2) Harrington Hold em Tournament 2
3) Advanced Hold em from 2+2
4) Poker Academy Pro.

I don't want to come off like a sales person for the game, but I can honestly equate my growth as a poker player to lessons I've learned from that game.

If it distracts folks from the cards they're holding, it's all good.

I'm not sure if I got eliminated or disconnected just now. Everybody stood up except for my guy, then I got a 'connection lost' message, even though I was able to reconnect to Stacked's servers.

Couldn't get back into the tournament though. Ah well, chip leader had 3x what I did, I wasn't going to catch him.
