NEW YORK (AP) - Steve Howe, the relief pitcher whose promising career was derailed by drug and alcohol abuse, died Friday when his pickup truck rolled over in Coachella, Calif. He was 48.

Ohhhhh...got chills hearing this story considering he was brought up a number of times when we were discussing Ricky Williams and his problems. I honestly thought he would die of drug related issues, but it is still sad regardless.

I was thinking the same thing as well. My next thought was you could have just as easily replaced his name in the story and this tragedy with Gooden or Strawberry
