Saints sell record number of tickets

Saints sell record number of tickets
Wednesday, 2:20 p.m.

By Mike Triplett
Staff writer

The Saints have set a record for season-ticket sales with 54,969, the team announced Wednesday.

Tickets remain in all seating areas of the stadium, except for the club level. There have been 81 suites sold out of 137 available.

The increased ticket sales has been spurred on by the excitement of adding quarterback Drew Brees and running back Reggie Bush and the hiring of coach Sean Payton, as well as the team returning to the Superdome after last season.

"Obviously the things that have happened in the offseason have helped fuel this," said Saints Vice President of Marketing and Business Development Ben Hales. "We've still got a lot of work to do, but we've got a lot to offer."

The previous record was 53,728 set in 2003.

Great news for Saints fans, and after a 3-13 season. It's even better since a lot of experts kept saying how sales were down, the city wouldn't be able to support a team after Katrina etc. Drew Brees, Reggie Bush, and a new coaching staff had a lot to do with it.

Hey, I wouldn't mind seeing Reggie Bush in person.

I almost bought Season Tickets, but my friend backed out and my wife won't go to more than a game or two a year.

I was able to talk my dad into splitting a pair of tickets with me, he picked up more than half....so I'm not sure I will be able to make it to the home opener against Atlanta. To me that is going to be one of the biggest games for New Orleans in a long time.

Yes, and with me building their long and storied history in the GEFL, they will have a solid foundation to build on!
