how much work should i do tonight

i work in a completely unsupervised office...my manager goes home at 6pm, and i have to stay here to man the phones (i work at a helpdesk) all by myself until 1am...i have been asking for about 4 months if there were any way to switch to dayshift, because being on seconds is taking a very heavy toll on my home life with my wife and daughter.

today, i got told for about the 8th time that a plan that would at least temporarily get me off seconds got scrapped. i basically feel like the donkey with the carrot hanging in front of it...they keep telling me that they will work something out, basically just to keep me from quitting, and then pull it back out from under me at the last minute,

so my question is, should i work diligently and put forth my 100% effort, OR, take out my laptop and play civ 4? or something in between?

You should take out your laptop and play civ4.

By the way, I think I have a wild marijuana plant growing in my back yard. What should I do?

I say take the laptop and play WoW if you have internet access or FM if you don't.

Lungs: Smoke it

Quik: Analyze its chemical makeup to see how it compares to more cultivated strains, 2/3 of which should exceed it in potency

Flasch: Discuss it in the third-person as WM, which will cause everyone else to think you're considering smoking a white man

JIMG: Shoot yourself for considering doing anything other than immediately calling the cops and turning it over

SkyDog: Use it as the theme for an instructional, yet inspirational acoustic song

Ryan S:

terpkristen: Trip over it and break something

Kodos: Put up a poll asking what should be done

This is a great post. I couldn't stop laughing imagining a thread with their responses.

Antmeister: Use the plant to create a freeware song-generating program.

Hey...I'm not Brangelina specific...I just get the People newsletter in my email every day and now and then there are important social issues to discuss

Did you hear that Angelina has requested a "sit down" with Jennifer so they can sort out their issues and she can explain her so that they can all be "one big happy family"? Hmm..maybe I should just start a new thread about that....
