Weird Al is giving away his new song

You can download "You're Pitiful" in MP3 format for free from links off of his homepage:

hxxp://www.weirdal.com

If you are a fan of his, you won't be disappointed. Another solid parody from the master.

that was good and I can't stand the guy who does the real version of this song

no talent hack. Weird Al as more talent in his big toe than that guy.

It's a parody of James Blunt's "You're Beautiful". I didn't have a beef with the guy until I found out recently that he's banging Petra Nemacova.

I need to figure out how to record a hit single to get in on that supermodel action.

It's an irrational dislike for sure. Something about him makes me want to punch him in the face. And I'm not particularly fond of the songs I've heard from him.

Him and that John Mayer guy really piss me off. Daughters my ass.

Hahahaha... I can see where there would be dislike.. he's not one of my favorite artists by any means, but I did buy his album.

What's crazy is that he has been around longer than most of the bands he has made parodies of. It's crazy to think that he has been around since I was 8 years old and 27 years later he is still making songs.

I'm with you. What type of man intentionally records music like this? Or more specifically, isn't it just a transparent attempt to get laid? Or has music really become that wussified?

I've never forgiven John Mayer for doing that "Your Body is a Wonderland" song, because a.) it sucks and b.) the girl in the video isn't hot. If you're going to write a piece of suck rock about a hot girl, you can not put Plain Jane in your video. Period.

(By the way, I've learned that expressing thoughts like that out loud in front of your wife is a really bad idea. Just a tip.)

He's no Chris Issac that's for sure.

Does Mayer even have a daughter? How dare you then. Fuck you, you wussy asswipe.

Those two songs make me almost smash any radio they happen to be on.

Whoever sang that "You Had a Bad Day" song needs to be run over with a Hummer.

That song should just be called "This Will Be In the Trailer For a Chick Flick Some Day and I Will Get Money For That".

Once again, I'm forced to ask the question, "Maple Leafs, do you have the other half of this amulet?"

The only redeeming thing about that "Bad Day" song is that the local rights holder for Royals baseball -- whom I'm pretty sure won't be the rights holder much longer -- has done a "remix" with "highlights" from the Royals season. Just your typical Moring Zoo Crew on Z-100 hijinks.

I can't wait to get home and hear this. James Blunt sounds like he's doing a bad Rod Stewart impression. I like Rod Stewart, and this "man" is no Rod Stewart.

And while we're at, Weird Al walks on water as far as I'm concerned. I've seen him in concert twice and here's something I would never suspect -- teenage girls love Al.

The last time I went to the concert with a buddy, half the crowd were teenage girls. Sure, a good chunk of those were the teenage equivalent of me at 15 -- goofy chicks wearing poodle hats with "I LUV AL" t-shirts. But an amazing number of them were smokin' hotties. I shouldn't say much more lest I draw the interest of local law enforcement, but let me just say that it made me wish I were 18 again or the same age I am now with no morals or fear of prosecution.

James Blunt doesn't even remotely soundly like Rod Stewart. I actually have no idea how you even came up with the comparison. I'm curious to hear what you think the similarities are.

I like James Blunt. He's one of the only "pop" singers that I think is worth a damn. I think people hate him because he's got a high voice, sings lots of ballads, and doesn't mutter lyrics about bitches, hos, how great America is, how much of a redneck he is, and how much he drank last night. I'm not saying he's great, but he's a hell of a lot better than people (guys) give him credit for, and I HATE 99% of popular music.

Anyway, I love Wierd Al, so this should be an awesome parody.

But aren't you just going to the other end of the spectrum?

white girl pussy rock vs. poor white poser badazz rap

It's all mainstream BS with little to no artistic merit. It holds almost nothing I find interesting, regardless. It's just boring pop for people who know little about music/care little about music.

No need for it to be irrational anymore. Let me state again:

The only James Blunt song I've heard is the one Weird Al is parodying, and it sounds to me that Blunt is trying to do a Rod Stewart impression. You may disagree, but the first time my wife heard the same song, she asked me, "Is this Rod Stewart singing?" Maybe Blunt uses a different voice for his other songs. I have no idea.

Ditto. The first hundred times I heard the song, I figured it was an American Idol reject trying to do Rod Stewart impression.

He's Rod Stewart minus Rod's limited street cred.

It's moments like these that I regret Weird Al never put "It's Still Billy Joel to Me" on an album. Thank goodness for concert bootlegs.

What's the matter with the songs he's singin'
Can't you tell that they're pretty lame
After listenin' to a couple albums
Well, they all start to sound the same

So he tried to change his musical style
He tossed all his ballads in the circular file
Then he found the punk sound
Breakin' ground all around
It's still Billy Joel to me

What's the matter with the tune he's writin'
Well, you know it's gonna be a smash
It's so nice when you're a big name artist
Doesn't matter if it sounds like trash

Now everybody thinks the new wave is super
Just ask Linda Ronstadt or even Alice Cooper
It's a big hit, isn't it
Even if it's a piece of junk
It's still Billy Joel to me

It's not popular to hate popular music whatsoever. Pop, on the other hand...

Punk, nu-metal, pop dance punk, punk rock, garage rock, emo--It's all supposed to sound less manufactured so it appeals to people who dislike the pop sound. It has grown as corrupt as the music it stands against these days, though. Emo kids just make it even more annoying. They simply give an easily stereotypable face to already terribly sickening music.

Huh? Either I don't communicate myself very well (most likely), or you are often confused by what I say (lately).

Anyway, I'm not saying that I mindlessly dismiss anything that is "popular"; It's just that for the past 10-12 years, 95% of what's been on the charts or MTV haven't been things that I enjoy.

I listen to a lot of great artists (to me), but the vast majority of them aren't known by even a miniscule percentage of the population, and it annoys me. If something isn't from a huge recording company, it is dismissed or ignored by the uninformed masses. Now, I am not stupid enough to think that every good band can be popular nationwide, but I think that popluar music can be just as fun and energetic, while also being thought-provoking and interesting.

(Damn, I'm probably the only guy on FOFC that Pumpy hates. I am truly an icon!!!!!! )

I am truly an icon!!!!!! )
Really, I was just making a joke because it has seemed popular to hate "popular" stuff (music, movies, clothes) over the past several years. So whenever somebody says that they don't like something "popular", I jump in with the tired joke. It's nothing personal. You've just happen to have said a couple of the trigger words that bring out my jokes lately. I hate 11 people on FOFC, but you're not one of them.

That was a joke, too. I don't hate anybody on FOFC, except that Pumpy Tudors guy.

I was a Close Personal Friend of Al once. I still have my membership sticker.

I'm going to get my virtual ass kicked if I keep revealing the depths of my nerdosity.

Yeah, that bothers me, too.

Well, I have just had an Al-gasm. It has been too long since his last album. I need more funny stuff!
