he should make a combined college and pro game - that would rock!

According to his web-site we know it will either be an update for FOF or TCY or one of his two unpublicized projects. Which one will it be? Nobody knows.

While the last two years have been more family-focused, with no new products seeing release, 2006 will mark several changes for the company. We will release a fully updated version of one of our football games this year, though it will be a few months before a final decision is made as to which one.

I've now reached eight years "unemployed," the last two working on projects unrelated to released products. My primary long-term goal is to maintain the two football games, keeping them on the cutting edge for this type of career simulation.

I guess I read too much into that.

I used that for a while. It's not pretty or very functional but it works, which I guess was the only point of it.

Yep. He doesn't need to put out any more products if people keep buying a 6-year old game. TCY still brings in enough cash so he doesn't have to work.

Really. Well that's too bad for us. If I remember, TCY wasn't that good. That is of course, my opinion.

Please don't listen to the trolls. They don't have any inside knowledge of what I am or am not doing. They just want attention.

I do have to address the rumors trolls start, though, because otherwise they perpetuate. I am neither retired nor in a financial position where I wouldn't want a new version of each product if one were finished.

Any news about new products will be posted at FrontOfficeGames.com the minute it's available. Anything else you read is merely speculation.

BTW, I find it funny how Jim and SD seem highly annoyed by this thread being started.

I have been expecting this for some time now. The announcement that one of the football games would have a new version this year came a while ago, and it had this line in it....

Quote:
though it will be a few months before a final decision is made as to which one.

I have been waiting for someone to call out Jim on this one. Not hat he says he would tell us in that line, but come on man, these threads are to be expected at this point.

TCY was released 6 years ago. Jim has said that he believes it was a mistake to announce the game too early, for many reasons. If you need examples, look no futher than .400 software's first releases.

Back to the orginal point, however. It's been 6 years since he's announced a game prior to it being in final beta testing, at what point do you just accept it as fact that it's not going to change now? He's had plenty of time to mull over his decision, I'm pretty sure bitching about it now isn't going to do the trick.

No, I was annoyed by Joe inventing rumors about TCY sales and my financial status. That's the kind of thing that gets repeated if I don't say something quickly. He should know better. I'm sure Ben's reaction was about the same post.

I like that people are still interested in my work. That's not going to change my policy, though - I believe firmly that hype is very damaging to a new product unless you're trying to hit a retail window and you need a big first day.

As always, I will post on FrontOfficeGames.com as soon as there's any change in status. That text has been there awhile, but does it really harm anyone?

Joe doesn't know better, that's why I love the guy. Most of us know he is joking but I guess I see your point.

As for the last part, no it doesn't harm anyone. I was just saying I have been expecting it. It has been a while, new guys or guys who don't come around here often are going to ask this stuff. If anything it has cut back on these posts a ton which is a nice thing. But a new thread shouldn't be a surprise at the same time......

Not just Joe, but Kelly, too. His continued "no new game" mantra is getting old. You don't like Jim's policy. You've made your point multiple times. We get it. Time to move on to something else.
