POL: Well, I'll be damned.

I'm so used to getting automated phone calls for political purposes from this, that or the other political entity either on behalf of an election campaign or on behalf of a proposition, that I'm actually a little surprised right now.

I just received a call inviting me to join in Congressman Buck McKeon's telephone "town hall" meeting. Let me know what was going on, and automatically transferred me to the conference call with the opportunity to ask Congressman McKeon a question or two (which I took advantage of).

If I'm going to receive political phone calls, that's the way to do it. Give me the chance to interact with the individual, rather than just hold me hostage.

I don't agree with some of the votes Congressman McKeon has cast recently, but I gotta give him credit for doing something right here.

And he's not aware of the Guantanamo ruling. C'mon, Buck.

I know it's a stretch with a politician, but it is possible that he's been too busy today interacting with his constituents to have time to browse the internet for news. Right?

I don't expect him to be familiar with the intimate details of the ruling.

But it doesn't engender a lot of confidence when he gets asked the question and goes "...what Supreme Court decision?"
