Itunes question

All,

Is there a program available that can edit/change the file format of songs downloaded off of itunes so that they could be played on a windows media player?

I purchased a new pocket pc for work and it comes with windows media moble; however, it cannot play itunes files.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Actually, I've rather enjoyed it. It's pretty well served the purposes that I've used it for & I've gotten fair value for what I've spent with them.

I don't see much suckitude in that.

I've burned probably 80% of what I've bought from iTunes onto CD & played them without problem. The other 20% was stuff that I either haven't bothered to burn or haven't gotten around to burning, etc. And I don't even own an iPod, really don't have any desire to have one, so that's not a factor either.

I think what GWB is talking about is the software, not the service.

Sure it is cool to play them on a CD, but when I burn them to CD's,

I want to burn them as mp3s since it can store a lot more files in that format and my CD player can play mp3 files, but I can't easily do that with iTunes. Plus if you have any other portable player besides an iPod, it sucks to convert it over as well. The service itself is great, but their software is lacking.

Not that I know of since MP4 is a proprietary format. You have to do what GWB suggested and burn them to a CD first and then convert them to mp3s.

Let me rephrase that. There is no free software that I know of. There are plenty of shareware out there that claims to do this, but I never bothered trying to spend money for something that may or may not work.

Just picked up a MP3 player today. Stayed away from the iPod (I think they are over-priced and didn't want all the video and extra stuff). The iTunes thing is a big reason as well, the inability to not transfer files or burn them. I could use the other services for same price, with that flexibility.
