ok so 2nd break. I have 62K. 2nd is 42K. 3rd is 35K 4-5th is 20K. Very nervous. Never have done this well before. I'm not the best player at the table so I'm going to try to get the chips in preflop mostly.

If I was you with your stack I would play tight-aggressive and try and get to heads up where anything can happen

I would also be cautious of raising the guy to your right, he is short stacked and may push with a marginal hand and force you to make a descion

Ok this kind of rocks even a bit more than I thought. Here is the full deal:

* $10,000 entry into the Main Event (Event 39, no-limit texas hold’em, Friday, July 28 - Thursday, August 10, 2006.

* $3,000 for 15 nights hotel stay at the Rio All Suite Hotel & Casino from July 27 to August 10, 2006, inclusive; departing on August 11, 2006.

* $2,000 funded to your account for travel and spending money.

If exit early which will probably happen then I also get:

* $1000 entry into Event 40 (no-limit texas hold ‘em, Thursday, August 3, 2006, 11am)

* Entry into $200k Freeroll at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino (12noon, Saturday August 5th, 2006

I kind of wish I could just sell the seat and take all that cash. That is a decent bit more than my entire bankroll right now so the cold hard cash would be very useful. That said it should be a hellva time and if I could cash that would be awesome.

So if I could ask for advice from FOFC since I have never been to vegas. I know there have been some threads in the past so I will be looking them but up if anyone wants to add anything here that would be great.

1) Restaurants. We will probably be going over $2,000 for 15 nights so nice restaurants and nice, cheap, restaurants would be useful.

2) After I get knocked out early I'll have time to enjoy vegas so what stuff do you recommend I see?

3) Books. I currently own HOH1&2 and Phil Gordon's green book. I'll be getting HOH3 and Sklansky's tourney book tonight or tomorrow. What else should I be studying?

Thanks,

ps. I am sooooo dead money.

Congrats on winning the seat. Read all the HOHs again and maybe try a few deep stack tournaments online if you don't have much experience in them. I'm not sure about interpoker, but pokerstars has some good ones with big fields that may be helpful in learning how to play a deep stack with small blinds early and long level up intervals.

I meant to ask earlier, but how did you get entered in this freeroll? Did you have to win one or more satellites to get into it, or were you just able to enter straight away? How many people started the tourney? Inquiring minds want to know.

Congrats, and have fun in Vegas!
