Problem with my teeth

So I had some dinner last night and went to bed a few hours later. I didn't brush my teeth. So I wake up this morning and the top of my mouth feels weird. I get up, look in the mirror and apparently a piece of food was stuck between my top two teeth and the gum above it was inflamed so badly that it came halfway down my tooth.

Needless to say I'm concerned. I flossed the food out and brushed my teeth. As soon as I touched the inflamed gum area with my toothbrush, it bled (both in front of my teeth and behind them). I looked online and it says this is the first stage of gingivitis (lol) but I think it's just inflamed from me being an idiot.

I think the swelling has already gone down in the last 15 minutes (but I could be imagining things). Today's a much-needed day off and I wanna focus on the important things like Chipotle and my 360...not my gums!

Anyone ever have this or something similar happen? How screwed am I?

Input would be appreciated, and hopefully this won't affect me getting Chipotle for lunch

Brush the hell out of it and rinse with mouthwash.

Chew out of the side of your mouth when you go to Chipotle.

Try rinsing with warm saltwater.

Agreed. Even though it probably hurts like hell to touch, you have to keep it clean and the swelling should go down shortly. Don't be surprised if it stays tender and a little puffy for days. As much as it hurts, clean it good to make sure all the food is out so it's doesn't cause infection. As for Chipotle, not even a limb being torn off should stop you from that!!!

I've had this happen after one of those "all you can eat ribs" nights at Tony Roma's. I had a sliver of baby back rib meat stuck in my teeth. Don't worry about it. It usually goes away in a day or two.

I have had this a couple of times and it is a pain in the ass, but usually goes away in a few days - especially with the salt water rinse deal.

Okay, this is important. For the sake of the FOFC community, do not rinse with salt water, do not brush, do nothing to make it "better" for a couple of days. Then, when it's swollen and extremely sore, I need you to dig at it real good with a toothpick.

The resultant green puss is then to be described to us in full-on gory detail.

That is all.
