My silly cat

Somehow turned on the gas on my stove. He didn't get the knob to the "light" position, but did manage to push get the knob to push in and rotate and go up to the "3" position. I've shut it off, now (as soon as I found it), but the entire apartment smells like gas. I've opened up my windows and turned on the ceiling fan in my room, but is there anything else I can do to get the gas to go away?

Guess I now need to figure out what I'm going to do about dinner, since I don't think lighting the stove just yet would be a good idea. I'm thinking pizza....any other suggestions?

/tk

Pizza seems like a good option.

Your cat is seeming like my cat who recently turned on the water in my sink flooding a small part of my new home. Also, when my cat was younger (about a year old) he actually turned on the stove and lit it singing (sp?) his own hairs in the process. Fortunately, I was home and quickly turned it off before any other damage was done that time..

I think you have the answer closer than you think.

A buddy of mine had a cat that didn't like flames. My buddy liked to light candles all over his apartment.

The cat would bat out the flames of low lying candles. My buddy'd relight them, and the cat would limp across the room to bat them out again.

One night the cat lit its tail on fire, and started running around in quite the agitated state. I would have paid money to see it, and him trying to catch it to put the fire out.
