Why am I a "guest" in imported threads?
Hmm, I first noticed this in the OT - Simpsons Simpsons Simpsons, in my post dated 4/12/02.
I am listed as a "guest" with no post count or attributes in my posts from the old board. I added a new post, and I'm listed as a registered member. I've noticed a few other members listed as guests (not including banned people ... I'm talking about Easy Mac and others who have posted on the new board). Most others show up as registered members with their current sigs, etc. Here are a couple of other examples: OT-How Long To Call? OT - Wife/GF quotes It's not a big deal; it's just weird! |

I have no real idea at all, but it might have something to do with those post coming from the old board?...maybe? I really don't know.
Edit: I remember when we made the switch RyanS said something about names where the handle and log in name were different? Maybe this has something to do with it. Last edited by Doug5984 : 02-06-2003 at 12:45 AM. |

I used the same name for my handle and login name. What's funny is that I noticed a few members had some old posts that showed them as a guest in one imported thread, and in a different imported thread, listed them as a member. Strange.

maybe it had something to do with how your member number changed. Perhaps it switches you with someone who is banned or something, or can't find your number.
