Blood doping without the doping
An interesting article in yesterday's NY Times about how WADA is considering banning the use of low-oxygen rooms/chambers/etc. Of course, part of the advantage that the East Africans have in distance running comes from their living and training at high altitudes. Since you can boost your red blood cell production by living at high altitudes, will WADA try to ban mountains next?

"The spirit of sport" is a pretty broad phrase.

I can't agree with this. To me the spirit of sport is working, practicing hard and being smarter like sleeping in a low oxygen tent. I mean are they going to start saying that you can't eat pasta before a distance run because it gives you an edge and is not within the spirit of the sport? Or drink gatorade? Lift weights?

Don't forget about boxers not getting any before a fight to keep their mental edge.

That's right. WADA might soon require boxers to visit WADA-certified prostitutes before fights.

No doubt, and you will probably be scheduling 15-20 fights a month.
