ESPN: "Vince Young scores his first NFL touchdown"

I just heard this on ESPN and do not know if I aprove. Is it appropiate to say this in a preseason practice game? Maybe Vince scored a touchdown 2 weeks ago in a scrimage game? Is this wrong to say?

Don't you have to wait for the Season to begin to do your first anything?

Sorry, this just bugged me.

I don't know about the appropriateness, but the TD was scored on a scramble where he got rocked on the 1 and recovered the fumble with the ball breaking the goalline.

ESPN also said that Troy Polamalu was over agressive on a Vikings TD play. He was actually in position to make an INT or a deflection, but the pass was tipped. Their anchors really don't think too much into the highlights.

It doesn't count until regular season, IMO.

This quote, and the quote about Vince Young having scored his first NFL touchdown were both the result of the the female anchor, who's name escapes me (go figure) who is absolutely terrible. To me it seems like she sits down at the desk with no prior knowledge of anything that has happened in sports for the past week, week and a half and just tries to wing it as she watches the highlights for the very first time herself.

Either that, or she sucks at reading a teleprompter

Nope, his "1st NFL Touchdown" will come when he throws (or runs for) one during the regular season. This is when it will count in the record books.
