So what is Apple up to

So, The Itunes Music Store takes you to a page that says:
"It's Showtime: The iTunes Store is being updated."

Been like that since I got on at 7:30 this morning.

Now the Apple Store is down at store.apple.com

We all have an idea what they're about to do in 10 minutes, but anyone got some good rumors? Personally, I'm aiming for a touchscreen, widescreen video Ipod, HD downloadable movies for $10, and Ipodded movies for $5. Rumors also have a new airport express for videos, though with my Media Center PC, that's just overkill.

Oh, and TiVo released the HD Tivo today for $800 (F that, plus the $15 a month subscription, i can record HD right now).

Touch-screen wide screen has been confirmed for quite a while, no? Also, im expecting a 90 gig hard drive in one of the units. They're going to have to increase storage size if they want to seriously push movies/tv, and i know whoever their HD manufacturer is recently patented a 90gig drive that is the same size as the 60.

My #1 question about the touch-screen, from the first second i heard about it:

Why would I want a touch screen? I dont want to put my fingerprints all over a screen i plan on watching.

Stylus that's stored on the side or back somehow? Otherwise, you make a very good point. I thought the click wheel was touch-screeny enough.

Well, they only reason for a touchscreen is space conservation, but otherwise I agree. My phone/pda uses a touch screen for dialing, and I don't like to do it w/out the stylus b/c it messes with my screen.

Sweet, so a friend can download a movie and share the license and the movie (if there even is one) with other friends, therefore losing money and the MPAA is back where it started with people pirating movies from Kazaa and other P2P networks.

10:10AM - video battery life: 75 percent longer
The most important feature today is we're going to make it more accessible: We're lowering the price to $249.

10:11AM - 30GB 7,500 songs 40 hrs video $249 80GB 20,000 songs 100 hrs video $349 Now, lets' take a look at the iPod nano. It is the most popular mp3 player in the world. So today, we're going to introduce an all new nano. It's made out of aluminum, and it's even thinner than the previous ipod nano
