anyone ever been to Costa Rica?

My fiance and I are looking at different honeymoon locations and Costa Rica is one that has come up. We have a timeshare available so accomidations won't be a problem. Cost isn't an issue either.

Anyone ever been or have thoughts?

my parents own a condo in Jaco. I have been quite a few times and it is great...any questions i'd be happy to answer.

I spend most my time around the Jaco area, and have spent a lot of time in San Jose as well.

a town on the pacifica cost...about a 45 minute drive from the capital. Depending on traffic. I guess it could be called a newer tourist area in Costa Rica with the Marriot's Los Suenos resort now open (has been for a few years, but they are still doing more construction).

I went there for my honeymoon last year, it was loads of fun. We stayed in San Jose the first two nights (it's kind of a scummy city) and went to some bars. Take cabs no matter how far

We went rafting on the Pacuare River and stayed in the jungle overnight. http://www.toenjoynature.com/PACUARE/02.HTML they have a really nice honeymoon suite and canopy tour (zip cording). They cook really nice food, most of them are really nice and speak perfect english, bargain with the kayaker dude who takes pictures.

We also went and stayed at the Tabacon Resort next to the Arenal volcano. The hot springs were great, but the place is mega-expensive. We only did it because it was our honeymoon and they have a great package. Save yourself a few hundred and stay nearby. There's an awesome little restaurant nearby where you can eat really good, cheap food and see the volcano flow.

We also spent two nights here, http://www.mimosa.co.cr/ at Posada Mimosa. We were supposed to spend our final 2 nights in San Jose, but it was such a dump we found an internet cafe in Arenal and found this place randomly through Google. It was our best find. For $65/night you get good security, a nice B&B with a really nice German/English couple. They met during the war and fled to Canada, eventually making there way to CR and opening this B&B. The land is beautiful, they have 4 nice Dacshunds, and if you tell them it's your honeymoon, they might give you many shots. It's right near the town of Grecia (pretty, safe, cheap town), just 20 minutes from Sarchi (shops, ox carts), and just an hour from the La Paz waterfalls and the Poas volcano, really beautiful.

That's it in a nutshell
