QB Wade Mickus hangs 'em up.

*Salute* I took him 1(1) with my first pick in the draft out of Wayne State (Mich.) of all places--he must have been the most dominating DII player ever. 8 Super Bowls in 13 years with the expansion Reno Marauders(FOF 2001 with oppressive house rules) with the first coming in 2005 and the last coming in 2017.

He must have been one tough sob. With all those sacks, did you ever consider an offensive line?

Yeah, no crap! Look at 2010 - almost 5700 passing yards, but 78 sacks for 500 yards!

I guess those "opressive house rules" were to have no offensive lineman rated over 3 current and 4 potential. Or did you customize it to just have a center hike the ball and that was it, no other lineman?

Bah, he didn't even break Pro Football's career passing yards record.

The new 9 WR Spread offense is designed to maximize the number of options the quarterback has in passing the ball. On the down side, it brings a new meaning to the term "empty backfield."

What happened in 2007 and 2011? Did you have enough of a line to run the ball or did you just dump him off the stretcher to get a couple of starts?

Does he hold the record for most times sacked per game average? That is a great record to hold, second to most times fumbled per carry average.

He's like a cross between David Carr and Peyton Manning.

The rules were:

No Renegotiations
No Trades
Empty Cupboard Start
Scouts handle Depth Chart(So I can't play OL out of position)
Can sign 1 veteran FA/year in 20 step FA
Can resign players on my roster who are FA
Cannot sign players drafted before 2002
Can only sign undrafted rookies outside 20 step FA

So as you can see it was tough to maintain cohesion or even have decent players out there. Many times I had to slap together an offensive line with rookie free agents and chewing gum. I definitely could not maintain a line strong at both run and pass blocking.

In '06-'07 and '11-'12, I ran the same pass heavy attack as always, but Mickus left most of the games early with chronic injuries. After he went down in '12, I thought he was done for good, but he came back to put up the best years of his career. Late season injuries to Mickus also cost us super bowls in '08 and '16 IMO.

More fuel for the haters:

Mickus is first on the career list with 142 fumbles.

That's called the Millen Plan.
