Ad Ware Help
Okay i have tried everything i cn think of and i still cannot get rid of this freakin adware. I have scanned with Norton and deleted, scanned with ad aware and deleted and also removed items with Spyware Doctor. For the life of me i cannot kill this stuff. The popups are for sportsbook.com and some other marketplace crap. Occasionally i will get some other sportsbet stuff. I do not surf porn or at least havent on this 3 week old computer and have never been to a sportsbetting site. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You probably have already done this, but are you running scans in safe mode? Sometimes these things won't go away until you run the scan in safe mode.

Windows Defender is the best spyware cleaner I've found so far.

My suggestion would be to search online for it, if you haven't already. Some malware cannot be deleted by traditional forces and occasionaly there are deep manual fixes that you have to do (like deleting registry keys, etc...) Google the names of the malware you are getting and see if anything comes up.

I would second this and also try these; note these are all free to use for personal use: -Spybot Search and Destroy (also after you take care of this download spywareblaster , from same company which blocks alot of sites that lead to spyware being loaded on your computer secretly in the first place.) -Eweido(very good and free) Hijack This(the best for getting rid of stuff like this used) Use EasyCleaner or any other free registry cleaner after you remove your problem spyware to get rid of any trace that might remain in the registry to keep it from coming back. If all else fails just use system restore to a previous PC state to go back to atime before this appeared on your pc. Most the applications I mentioned can be found at the 46 best freeware utilities site here:hxxp://www.techsupportalert.com/best_46_free_utilities.htm Hijack This:hxxp://www.tomcoyote.org/hjt/#Top Ewido:hxxp://www.ewido.net/en/download/ |

Another thing to try is to turn off the System Restore feature. The SOBs that write this crap have figured out how to hack the System Restore feature, so that if you uninstall/remove the crap, it will check System Restore and simply put everything back the way it was.
You can turn it off by right-clicking My Computer, then selecting Properties. Click on the System Restore tab, then put a checkmark in the "Turn Off System Restore" box.

It looks like my system restore was turned off before. I have tried to do a system restore to before the incident but it keeps telling me it was not completed. I have only had the darn computer 3 weeks so i am not too far in right no but it would take a while to do a clean sweep and start over.

I don't know if you said what kind of machine it is, but if you are still having the problem and it is that young, might as well cut your little losses now and just reformat back to factory settings (I assume that is what you are attempting to do with System Restore) Depending on the type of machine, you might have a CD or a special partition on the HDD in order to do this, otherwise you can probably call the company and ask. Then, when you get reformatted, buy/download a good anti-virus and a good spyware scanner
