Fool me once...

Niners learned their lesson the hard way.
Ravens learned their lesson the hard way.
Eagles learned their lesson the hard way.

Cowboys have only themselves to blame for this. Did they really think T.O. would not cause a huge distraction sometime this season?

I'm sure the Cowboys knew a huge distraction or twenty would happen. They rolled the dice that:

TO's on-field play > TO's off-field distractions

At this point, his distractions have probably outweighed his on-field contributions, on the other hand, they've only played two games.

Hopefully the NFL learns the lesson and we don't have to hear about TO anymore.

I'm not sure why this needed a seperate thread, but...

I still have to ask - how does this become a "TO causing a huge distraction" situation? I'm sorry but either this WAS a bad reaction (becoming more and more believable imo) or him attempting suicide. Neither one of these, imo, can you put in the same category as his past antics.

The guy makes an attempt on his own life and he's getting bashed for it? I'm not trying to call anybody out here, but if this were Tom Brady or Ben Roethlisberger would everybody still be so angry with them? For some reason I don't think so.

I just don't think this is the time to be coming after the guy, we all know everybody thinks he's just the worst teammate in football. But can we tuck that away for a few days and at least find out the truth before we start calling it a cry for attention or another one of T.O's "antics"?

If this were anybody other than T.O I believe everybody would be going "poor Tom Brady" or "poor (insert well liked by the media player here)," but since it's T.O, "he's an asshole, and a distraction."

Eh ...

No, but if Ben Roethlisberger gets in another morocycle accident and gets hurt, the initial reaction is going to be "serves him right" and then it will be "hope he is okay".

If Brady or Big Ben had the same attitude and all of the BS surrounding him, you can bet the reaction would be the same.

Okay, I can live with this answer but I don't think I've read many people saying "hope he's okay." It's a lot of "what an ass," "this must be a publicity stunt," and now there's even a poll about it. Just found it crazy that (at the time) the report was T.O attempted to take his own life and so many people acted so apathetic toward it, like "well, as long as it's T.O it's okay."
