That's sad.
I hate that a dog's lifespan is so short. |

That is sad but you got to ask yourself...would those 13 years have been better or worse without the dog?

Thanks for sharing that John. My dogs are a great addition to life and this is a nice tribute.

Very sad. It is the worst thing about dogs, and pets in general. It's almost like having a kid that you know will only live 10-15 years or so. We just adopted a puppy back in May. He's 7 months now and I already can't imagine life without him. He is the ultimate "snuggle dog." If you sit on the floor, he'll crawl into your lap. You sit on the couch, he's up there in a second, head on your lap. A great little fella.

We have a labrador retriever who is 75lbs, slobbers all over the place, tracks mud and water in the house, barks at everything, jumps on everybody, and I couldn't ask for a better dog. Why? Because as stated before, dogs rule.

Argh. My dog is 13 right now and still as frisky as a puppy. Which makes it even worse knowing that sooner rather than later she won't be there.

Since moving to the city again, I've felt bad for our dog. He is clearly a high energy, country dog and so I relate to all the parts of the cartoon. I walk him for 2 miles every morning and he usually gets another mile or 2 later in the day. But I know he misses the open air and grass. Hopefully, he can return to that soon. The cartoon was very touching to me and made me appreciate my little dog even more than I already do.

I'm a dog owner only since two months ago. After thinking a lot on the pros and cons, both my wife and me decided to buy one. A new familly member to take care of would help us to recover faster from the terrible loss of our baby, keeping our minds bussy. The first days were hard as when she cried at nights it reminded us a lot the few days we enjoyed our little baby. Both my wife and me were on tears the first day we gave her a bath but after some days it all changed. We can't be more happy about the decission, Thelma has helped us a lot, she is all love and wants to play the whole day. She must be always in the same room than us, She doesn't like to be alone for a minute and sometimes we can feel like if she could underestand what we say. We are really happy of bringing her into our lifes.
Here is a recent pic from Thelma, a West highland white terrier (also known as Westy): ![]() ![]()

I miss my greyhound something fierce even though it has been over a year. She dies of bone cancer and it was terrible to see a majestic dog like her not be able to run like she used to.

Thanks to Toddzilla, I'll have a virtual snuggle dog (my pug back home) on the Nintendo DS. He sent me the game Nintendogs.
Word.

I'm certainly more of a cat person, but it still makes me think about my Kilagni's mortality...

My dog Baxter is the shiz. He actually laying next to me, sad that his mom (my fiancee) has been in Italy for the past week. He'll perk up when she gets back, but this dog wants nothing more than to lick and get petted... and play ball. The boy can catch any pass. He actually almost did a flip the other day. He overran the ball, jumped, turned sideways in midair and spun around, caught the ball and landed on his back. He almost made it all the way flipped. I'm thinking of getting him a tryout at third for the Yanks.

Very touching cartoon. Our greyhounds have been fantastic and they have been a great addition to our family. Nothing better than playing catch with them after a long day.

Thanks JG. A beautiful tale.
