So how are you currently playing SP FOF 2007?

After a week after release, how are you currently playing SP FOF 2007? Poll forthcoming.

IIRC, Jim added some improvements to the game with the first series of patches that necessitated a restart of a career so I'm waiting on a patch to play.

I picked the first option, but there is a chance that will change depending upon how well the patch works with existing careers.

I put about 10 hours total into the game and have decided that it's just not living up to my expectations so I've moved to other games.

I am a MP guy, but I will spend some SP time with it once the patch comes out so that I can become familiar with the gameplanning nuances...

I put about that much time into NFL Head Coach, and I didn't even make it to my first preseason game in that one.

I'm playing a fairly quick-moving career, mostly focusing on the draft. I'm having a fair degree of trouble having good results from my draft so far, so this seems like a spot to focus on for now. I haven't gotten deep into gameplanning for success, so right now I'm just QuikSimming through my seasons with staff in charge of the depth chart and game plan -- mostly to see how my young players develop. So far, it's illustrative... and I'm not so attached to the team that I'd have trouble starting over after a patch. And I doubt that the basics of the draft process are going to be upended by any future patch, either -- so I suspect this is time well spent.

Almost spookily what he said.

The draft is definitely much more difficult to read than it was in 2004. It looks like you've got a draft full of great players and then, post training-camp, they're not that great after all.

I've mainly been playing with the new gameplans and checking stats etc, I'll probably start looking at the draft and the summer league now. I won't start any kind of serious career until after the patch. I like to have a basic idea of how everything works before starting up careers anyway.

With little time, I've bought the game but haven't played it yet. I'll wait for the first patch to delve into the game as TCY will get my free time for now.

By then, I just might be able to use my TCY files for the game.

I went through all three options. Voted on the third, which is where I am at now.

I started a career, but only generated the league and have not done anything else in it. Then started another test league and just played around with the new features. Right now, I have stopped playing, and I am waiting for the patch before running FOF 2007 again.

I've got a career going and may or may not continue depending on the patch, what improvements are made and how current careers are impacted by the patch.

I have SUCH a hard time getting into any SP game right now. It's nothing against Jim, this is across all of the genres of games I play.

So, I haven't gotten much into it. I'm going to HAVE to do some to learn and be competitive in MP, but I haven't yet.

I fully plan on keeping my game post-patch, but who knows?
I guess it all depends on what kinds of fixes are offered.

Basically, that's what I'm doing. I started a career with the 49ers, default player file, no free agency, building the roster through the draft and URFA. I played like 9 seasons, having bad/average results. Drafting is much harder in this version IMO. I've never had so many busts in 2004!!! But I like that . Anyway, I plan to keep this career and continue it even after the patch. Also, yesterday I started another career with an OPU file, simming 35 years to give the league some history, and I'm ready to take over in the 2006 season.

So far, I'm having a blast with the game.

I'm buying the game this WE through my wife (well, future wife since we are getting married in 6 months), played with the demo this past week.
Very, very promising.

So yeah, the wife is making my 29th birthday present this WE and it is buying me FOF2007 ! couldn't be happier !

As far as playing the game, I think I am going to mess around for a while but will wait for the first patch to start a "true career".
I still have FOF2 for that, for now :-)

I've only done a little testing on it so far, hoping to get into a real career this weekend though. It's always difficult for me to get one going as I hate starting with a bunch of veterans who just show up. That's why I've generally used empty cupboard careers with FOF2004. I'll probably go with a preference draft of fictional players.
