FOF2k4: Snow Games

I have a road game in the snow today in FOFL. I have to admit that I haven't really paid attention to weather until recently and was wondering how folks change their gameplans for this type of condition - and do they even notice any effect on the game stats?

Conventional wisdom says run a lot, but our rookie RB Randy Locher is a bit fumble-prone and I don't want to have him carrying 40 times and fumbling thrice.

Any experience would be much appreciated...

Thanks!

Do a search. We had a long thread about rain games, with myself putting forth the contention that playing in the rain made the game a tossup. After much bantying about and talk, Jim pointed out that the only time rain affects a play, it will be noted in the game log, and should only be a couple a game, so should not have a noticable impact.

I added a feature to the LogFileProcessor utility to dump out various key game stats (passing yards, passing attempts, rushing yards, rushing attempts, interceptions, fumbles, FG %) including weather. According to that, pretty much everything stayed within small margins of error between rain and regular games EXCEPT for rushing yards per carry which had a noticable discrepancy (which backed up a feeling I'd had that you have more success passing in a rain game).

We didn't look at snow, but you could use the latest LogFileProcessor, check the "Summary" box, and run it on your league (or some suitably large sample set of games). That'll tell you how things vary based on weather.
