FOF 2k7 Defensive Line
Is it just me or is the option to designate your DTs and DEs for passing situations in FOF 2k7 been done away with?
I know if you run dime or nickel you can select certain DTs or DEs, but it seems if you want to run your basic package (4-3 or 3-4) in passing situations you cannot designate anybody -- you are stuck with your basic depth chart which would likely be your best overall lineman but not your best pass rusher. Yes, that option is gone. However, in a pure passing situation where you would want your best pass rushers (and not the best overall DE), you would most likely have a nickel or dime defense on the field anyway (where I'm setting my best pass rushers at DE.) Therefore, I prefer this system and think it gives more control.

also, if you look on the bottom of the nickel depth charts, it mentions that the DE's you put in the nickel are also used during whenever you have gameplanned 'agressive pass defense using normal personell" which is probably what most would gameplan for passing situations |

I agree but I just thought having the option was still worth it. If I have 3 very good LBs and an OK secondary, I'm not a big fan of the nickel -- so that's a situation where the option would be there. |
