PureSim 2003 Goes Gold
PureSim Baseball 2003 goes gold today. Expect to see the final release available some time after 6:30 EST.
I will update the demo later tonight to synch it up with the gold code as well. Thanks to all the folks that have supported the game through the subscription period over the past 4 months -- what a difference you guys made... The release code is solid! I hope you all enjoy the game. If you tried PureSim in the past and found that it wasn't your cup of tea, I suggest you try the PureSim 2003 demo -- you may be pleasantly surprised. Shaun, is this a new download for those who have previously purchased? I purchased over the weekend, I think.

I'm curious why the demo only allows play in a 4 team league. I was curious to see how slow the game is with a full league and the demo doesn't really communicate that at all.
Can someone who owns the game comment on the speed in a full league? Thanks B |

I've got a P4 2.53 with 512 MB RAM, and with a 24 team league, it runs reasonably. You're not going to sim an entire season in 10-15 minutes like with OOTP, but it won't take all night, either. I have yet to let it sim through a whole season without stopping, so I can't tell you exactly how long you can expect. I plan on playing this game much slower than OOTP, though.

I'd probably run it a month at a time with it stopping for "significant" events.
I was just curious if doing things that way would require me to go watch a movie in between months or just surf the internet for a couple minutes. ![]() |

Bee,
I sim a week at a time. I play with 28 teams and it takes about 3 minutes, +- 1 minute, to sim a week. I also have reveal ratings turned off and all of the others turned on, meaning my sim times are the slowest you can have. There are several options available to help speed up simming. |

So a month would probably be around 10-15 minutes. That's not too bad. Now, I have to decide if I have time to play this game with everything else that's out right now.
![]() Thanks guys. |
