Which text sports sim should I buy?

The future Mrs. BumCover has given me permission to make one PC game purchase this year - a generous allowance, considering we're trying to save every single penny we earn towards our wedding next year.

I've been leaning towards text sports sims over action-packed or other strategy game. So my question is this: Which should I buy?

Do you have FM2006 or FOF4?

Yes. But after reading all the Impressions threads, I've been wanting to buy the newest versions.

If you like basketball at all, I'd suggest holding off until Gary Gorski's new pro basketball sim comes out

BBCF.

It's the only sim (other than TCY and FM) that I've purchased that I still play regularly.

With only one purchase, you need something that you can get some mileage out of. I'd say wait until testing is completed on Second And Ten (SAT) V4 soon and buy that when its released.

I'm usually on the SIGames bandwagon, but due to their latest crop, I would have to recommend FOF2007 (even with the ugly buttons).

Edit: and I will never buy another Gorski basketball game until he gets a different artist. His college basketball game gave me a migraine. I miss HeavyReign.

Edit 2: Because Football is not the same word as Basketball

Pick your favorite sport and go with that.

FOF will give you the advantage of a lot of multiplayer leagues you can use. I'd say all of them will give you your money's worth and a lot of time. (I've already put in over 20 hours into both FOF and FM07)

I own every game on that list and if I were forced to pick one, I'd go with FOF2k7. The reason? I enjoy pro sports more than college and my favorite sport is football. As great as the FM series is and it is GREAT, my first love is NFL football and FOF is the game that dominates that for me.

Agree with Troy. If you like Football significantly more than Soccer, I'd go with FOF2k7.

I like football much more than soccer, but I find that actually hurts my enjoyment of football games because I'm much more critical when playing them.

That's interesting considering he didn't make a college football game.

I don't know what to tell you, sincerely i love them all and i buy all the sims in the market anyway, I'm an addict.

FOF2k7: Well what to say? the best football game, you already own 2k4 so you know how good it is, now this is even better.

FM07: The king of the sims, not any sim comes even close to it's deepness, that could be good or bad depending on what are you looking for.

BBCF: with the latest patch just released the game is like a different one. Now it has recruiting and players developing during the season instead of only at the end, lots of tweaks to the game engine, more feedback from the players when recruiting etc etc, i highly recommend it too.

EHM07: Nice game, i bought it because i love how deep are SI games more than because I'm a hockey fan. If you are into hockey it's really a great game, and a patch has been just released today.

At the end, I'm sorry but i know I'm not helping you a lot, it would be a really hard decision for me if i on could buy one. My advice is to keep reading all the first impression threads and to download the demos to try them all.

When you're over-budget on wedding costs by four grand ( ), a $40 video game is a brick of gold.
