FOF2K7: Now that's what I call a 'BOOM'

This guy's not on my team, just stumbled upon him while browsing the single-season records, so I have no idea what his ratings looked like in his first year with Dallas. Not a bad first four years in the league.

FOF2K7 is broken. Indiana doesn't produce good football players.

Wow! I've never seen anything like that from an undrafted player. Good contributors, yeah, but never stellar stats and ratings like this guy.

Was that in your first season? As i pointed after the game was relased, the available free agents when you start a new game look too good to be undrafted players.

Since the guy came into the league in 2014, I'm willing to bet it wasn't the first season of his career. I wonder if this was a TCY or game generated draft? I'm guessing game generated, and if so it is awesome to rarely see guys who boom like that.

Ditto. I haven't seen anything like that, so the fact that it is possible, but rare, is VERY cool!

You snipped his name off because it says "Marques Colston".

Colston was three picks from being an undrafted rookie FA.

I think I just like saying his name. Colston Colston Colston. Mmmmmancrush.

Right on all counts. Not my first season, and a game generated draft (although that particular draft was probably pre-patch for whatever that's worth). I clicked through a bunch of the receiving/rushing records to see if I could find any more undrafted players that had performed anywhere near as spectacularly, but he was the only one I came across....in fact, after clicking through all 50 of the records for single-season receiving yards amassed in my universe so far there was only one other guy drafted below the third round, and that guy WAS Marques Colston.

Definitely cool to see that an UDFA can boom to that degree.

If you have old saved files, I'd be interested to see if his combine or anything gave any hint to the fact that this would happen?

What I love is that it happens, but it doesn't happen very often. I don't even know how you can code the game to make it as rare as it is. (Maybe that's not super hard, I'm no coder..)

Exactly. I'd hate to see this happen once every year or even every couple of years. However, I love that this can happen rarely.

I ran a bunch of test leagues, and I only saw one guy who went undrafted and came even somewhat close to this type of ratings boost/performance.
