Injured Reserve Management
I have noticed that when I place players on the IR that they still count towards my 53-man roster, which makes me have to cut someone else if I want to sign a replacement for the injured man.
I was under the impression that the IR took the injured man off the 53-man count and let someone else be signed to his now vacant spot. Or am I wrong? Can someone please explain to me what is happening and how I might be able to fix it? Thanks. |

He doesn't count against your 53 man roster. The game shows how many players are signed. You have to subtract how many injured reserve players you have. Try to sign someone else after you put a player on IR. I am almost sure you can.

Are you sure that you are not reading the box that shows the total amount of people that are under contract? Because that box only indicates the players under contract and not the total amount of players on your roster. If you are cutting players, you are probably under 53 people on the roster.
Double check by adding the active players with the inactive players on the roster screen.

Look at the inactive players number on the top of the main roster screen. You're allowed 7 inactive players and 46 active players. Injured Reserve players won't count towards either number. So "total under contract" will show 54 if you have 1 player on injured reserve, but that's still a legal roster.

Thanks. That explained it better than I did.

Thanks alot, I'll double-check to make sure, but I thought that I got a message saying that with my IR guys I was maxed out at 53 under contract when I tried to sign a replacement.
