Range for the cap in 1980\1992?
I'm creating player files for 1980 and 1992, but I was wondering if any of the cap gurus could give me a ballpark figure on where the cap would\should have been in 1980 and 1992? i know it really doesn't matter, but I wanted to give the leagues a realistic flair. TIA

Unlimited? No salary cap until 1994.

For the 1980 file, which has to start with a draft, I used 22 Million as a cap figure. This gave the team with the largest space under the cap, 3.4 Million under, and the team with the least cap space was 2.82M under. For the 1992 file, I used 50 Million, which gave 42+ Million in cap space for the 4 teams who weren't in the league yet, 16.74 Million to the team with the most cap space, and 2.83 Million in cap space to the team with the least cap space. I did not start with a draft for the 1992 season tho.
