Weird Happenings

Weird things are happening to me in this game. To avoid the obvious question, I have the updated patch.

My roster is loaded every season. I'm unquestionably better than everyone else. I'm to the point where my lowest starters are rated around 60.

From a talent perspective, I should be winning more than 8 games a season. Can someone explain to me why?

Additionally, the game picks up players for me that are literally rated ultra high at minimum salaries, how I do not know (I got Mario Williams after late free agency for the one year minimum, and he was rated a 91, he wanted way too much money during late FA...then he signs with me at the veteran's minimum). I still have this same prob as I did in 2k4, there are way too many good players after free agency.

It seems too easy for me to assemble a very good squad of players, but impossible to win.

I bought the game yesterday, I've played through 4 seasons, and did a draft where I could pick players, and picked the worst players possible and cut them and had to eat their bonuses, so it should have been very difficult for me to load up.

It is on Wall Street for any who inquire.

To answer the question about Mario Williams, you probably had "coaches sign players to fill roster" or some other similar option checked going into training camp, when left-over great FAs sign 1-year contracts with the other teams.

Obviously, talent is not the only thing that wins games. Things you might want to take a look at are your coaching staff, your team cohesion, your team chemistry, any red flag players, or perhaps you have a bad game plan (it sounds like you let the coaches set it though).

Also, there is a degree of scout error. What is your QB like?

My QB is 60/80. After going 0-16 in my first season after the draft where I picked the worst players and simmed through, I picked him. He's steadily developed from 42/87.

My cohesion is significantly lower than the other teams due to the roster gutting. But does it mean that much?

My coaching staff is alright, and my chemistry/redflag players is ideal.

I let the coaches set the gameplan.

It's tough to say how big of a role cohesion plays. Maybe someone else could answer more specifically how big of a role it plays.
