Multiplayer question
I've never done any multiplayer stuff in 2K4 or 2K7, so I was wondering if someone could answer this - is it possible to set up a multiplayer league so that everyone could look at players and statistics but only the commissioner could actually run the games and sign players, etc? Sorry if this is pretty vague, but I'm a complete newcomer to MP.

That is exactly how most multiplayer leagues are set up, except for the part about "only the commissioner could ... sign players". Most (if not all) multiplayer leagues have each team owner sign their players (and set depth charts and game plans) by sending in an export file to the commish. Now if you only want the commissioner to sign players (and set depth charts and game plans), then don't accept any export files from any one else. Just set up the multiplayer game and all teams to run on one computer. Then input all the stuff yourself by accessing each individual team. You will have to set up all 32 teams. In FOF 2k7 all 32 password will need to be entered, but you only have to that once. You can then distribute the league files to any other owners just like normal. I sort of do this when I run a multiplayer game in which I am the sole person interacting with the league. Basically, I run all 32 teams at some level or other. The fun part of this is I can create trades between teams that are logical. Like swap two backup players on different teams that would be starters on their new team, along with any draft pick compensation for position value. There are many ways you can play FOF. ![]() |

I don't see how that would be possible. If the other players in his league want to look at stats, etc. then they're going to need the full version of the game as well. The only way you could really get away with this would be a sort of "hot seat" game. Most games that have a hotseat game mode don't require multiple licenses as that would just be silly. But FOF isn't really designed for this and I think it would be a very cumbersome way to try and play.

I was under the impression everyone in the league would own FOF when I answered above. However, if they don't all own FOF, then you could still see the players and the stats in the HTML output. You would not be able to see the ratings of the indivual players in the HTML, but you could print them out for each team individually. It could be done, I guess. Easier to just have everyone buy FOF. ![]() |

Just for more info, everyone would own FOF, what I'm trying to toy with here is the idea of setting up a MP league for 2K7 to support a sort of "Fantasy FOF" where people would pick a fantasy team based on the players in the universe, and their stats would be tracked and scored like in a regular fantasy league. I'd need people to be able to look at and scout players to make their decisions but not to actually be able to run games to test the output. That's why I asked this.

How about setting all teams on computer control?
That way, you're creating a fictionnal universe without any of the players actually controlling a team.

There used to be a FOF fantasy football league.. (based on whatever the last EA version of FOF was)
