Sports Autograph Authenticity

I'm debating bidding on a sports autograph on ebay as a Christmas gift for my brother. The listing says it comes with a certificate but I'm wondering if there are certain company names I should be looking for when it comes to this certificate.

In general, if the certificate is not from PSA or Beckett or Steiner Sports or another major name, I would be VERY WARY of buying an autograph on eBay. I used to work at an eBay dropoff store (like in 40 Year Old Virgin) and I know from experience that it isn't worth it to buy an auto without certification from one of the major companies. Also, be sure to check feedback before purchasing.

If you didn't get the autograph yourself or from someone you can trust, then there is no real way of ever knowing.

I wouldn't even trust Beckett.
