Sit or Play during the pre season
Has this ever been figured out? Say I have a 12 year vet QB who is 75/75. Should I even play him during the pre-season or am I just risking an injury? Could it help the passing cohesion?
What is the consensus on pre season playing time for players of all ages/abilities?

In prior versions sit him. In 2k7, he will start the regular season rusty if you do not play him in preseason. You will see it in the right column of the player card if he has rust.

They start to show rust by the last preseason game. You can usually rest them until the last game. But play them a little or it will hurt you in the regular season a week or two.

I put as many key starters as I can on the inactive list until week 5. Then I start 'em at 50% with the reserves.
They are starting to show rust during that final preseason game, but week 5 knocks it out of 'em and wallah, ready to rock and roll for the season. If I have to play starters during the ex. season; I'll give them a backup role with the starter having a high % of plays. I do, however, give the guys who are going to be starting and still need development a 50% playing time all preseason. Seems to work well |
