Tied games are doing my nut

I'm stil finding far too many Tied Games, you generally get at least 2 every season, You can sim 20 seasons, and only about 4 or 5 of them will actually not have a Tied game. I've got a quote from NFL.com when Atlanta drew 34-34 with Pittsburgh in 2002, the last Tied game

Vick rallied Atlanta from 17 points down in the fourth quarter, and the Falcons withstood Maddox's franchise-record 473 yards passing to tie Pittsburgh 34-34. It was the NFL's first tie in five years, and only the 16th in league history.

Only 16 Ties ever, and that was the first in 5 years.

I really do believe we need to have an OT GamePlan, where, like the Offensive Gameplan Instructions screen, it gives you the opportunity to go for a Field Goal. It can even be fairly simple:

Inside OPP 20 - Go for Field Goal
Between OPP 20-25 - Go for Field Goal
Between OPP 25-35 - Run the ball until 4th down then FG Attempt.

I've only had three tie games in 10 seasons. Two happened in one year. I don't think it's excessive from what I've seen.

Edit-Did this happen to you more with version a,b,c, or d?

I've had 1 in 40 years, guess it's just luck of the draw.

I think your numbers are vastly inflated. In 21 seasons my league has had 4 tie games. This is with patch d, if there is a problem I'm not seeing it. That is a tie every 5 1/4 year and the article you quoted showed a 5 year difference between the last two tie games.

And to tell you the truth I remember there being MANY more tie games in FOF2K4 than I've seen in 2K7, so I think there has been improvement there.

Just to clarify I was speaking about the entire league as well in 3 different careers.
