Help Needed. Cannot run FOF2007.
I purchased the e-license, downloaded the software and (got my confirmation e-mail).
When I try to access the game, it does not load up, and the e-license Front Office Football icon appears in the lower left of the toolbar: If I click on it, nothing happens. If I right click on it, I get the following box: If I click on “About e-license”, I get this: And then if I click on that, it takes me to the e-license website. I have already uninstalled FOF2007 and reinstalled it, and the same thing happens. The game will not even open up to allow me to enter the license information. I am running Windows XP (SP2) on a Dell Inspiron 9300. It looks like I’m at an impasse here, so any help is appreciated. Thanks. |

try to inactivate programs running in the background, maybe there's something interfering with the elicense process?

Thanks. I already did that, including disabling the firewall and virus scan. This is really bizarre. I can't even get the program to launch. I just keep getting the e-license icon in the lower left of the toolbar. |

I guess you have to contact Viatech about it, [email protected]. By the way, what do you see when you're opening the elicence control in the control panel? You should see all your Viatech e-licenses there.

That’s a good question. When I open up the control panel, there’s the eLicense folder: When I click on it, nothing happens. When I right click on it, I get the following box: And then, when I try to “open” or “explore”, nothing happens. I guess I’ll try to contact Viatech, but I was hoping that someone here might have had a similar problem. |

There's a utility on the support page at viatech.com which allows you to uninstall the elicense control, might try that if you don't have any other elicense games you want to have installed. Speaking of which, if you have any other such games, how are they behaving?

Yeah, I did that also. The only other game that I had was FOF2K4, which I had already uninstalled. I fired off an e-mail to Viatech, but if anyone has any solution in the meantime, I'd be grateful. |

I couldn't get 2k7 to run the other night, but it turned out that the problem was another process I had running in the background that was frozen.
I know that this is an obvious question, but have you tried shutting down and restarting? |

The problem has been resolved. I hooked up my laptop to another monitor and extended the desktop across both monitors. The eLicense screen launched on the other monitor. I've been using the laptop as a standalone for the past couple of months, and I hadn't encountered a problem with any other programs, separate windows or dialogue boxes.
Thanks to everyone who took the time to look at the problem. Last edited by Vegas Vic : 12-20-2006 at 03:16 AM. |
