12/11/06 Coaches' Corner

FOF 2007 models player retirement and decline in the latter years more accurately than any previous version. As a result, players are declining earlier and retiring earlier making the draft more essential than ever to building a successful team. Hence, in this week's coaches corner I wish to highlight a thread which is designed to be a centralized place for discussion of the rookie interview process. As most people know now, Solecismic added rookie interviews to this year's version. The rookie interviews are conducted during the first period of FA via the draft preview and clicking on specific potential draftees to access their card, then clicking on the interview button on their cards. The rookie interview thread is addressing such issues as who to interview and what the results actually mean - early results are counterintuitive as it may not be a good idea to draft an "underrated guy." The thread was just started recently and is developing but it is well worth reading to glean nuggets that can help build a successful team:
