Too Many Penalties

My team seems to get too many penalties.

Is there a way to reduce them?

Check your coach's rating in "discipline".

There's also a training session whose time you can increase during training camp.

I forget which one right now, but I know there is one, and it's described in-game. Team meetings maybe?

My team gets too many penalties too, not just the typical holding calls to spring a running back, but dumb ones like defensive offsides and unsportsmanlike conduct. That one really ticks me off after a big 3rd down stop. It's like watching the Chargers vs. the Pats. My coach's rating seems to be very good for discipiline. Is there something else going on here, maybe my player's ratings for that sort of thing?

My Redskins specialize in delay of game, particularly when play clock is stopped. They often follow that up with a nice holding penalty to set up 1 and 25.

If a training camp setting decreases penalties, it's news to me. Is there a study on this anywhere?

I'm assuming you've seen the in game help text when you click on the different camp elements, which says the team building exercises (or whatever it's called - the last one!) helps increase loyalty & cohesion, which may help reduce penalties.

I guess FFF is referring to this. Never seen any emprical study though, and not my cup of tea. Over to you big man!

Yes, that was indeed was I referring to.

And no, I have never seen a study on this.

Just a gut feeling that cohesion does affect penalties, just like the discipline rating of the HC.

The Training Camp Help Screen has this about cohesion:
Time spent attending team functions improves team cohesion, reduces the effect of team chemistry problems and may lead to increased loyalty among players.

There's nothing about penalties.
